I'm sorry, but sticking your hand above your shoulder is not an automatic fair catch signal. That's the wrong call, and the fact tht it took them two minutes to call makes it all the more corrupt. It's simply inexcusable for the delay no matter what you think of the call.

I'm sorry, I didn't see an obvious signal. Nobody stopped playing. The refs didn't blow it dead immediately. They seemed to react to a video screen replay, which is obviously illegal.

Like Tech said, you and I have the advantage of seeing the entire field and the entire play unfold. If you're on the field running full speed with players all over the field you may not catch anything but a glimpse of a hand wave. Go ahead and not make the call and the next time it's questionable, they will take someone's head off. They got it right.
