6-1

Have scored 5 or more runs in all 7 games.

Impressive homestand regardless of tomorrow.

Well I'll be damned!! Wish Jerry would do a re-build every year. This is suppose to be a slow build over a couple years and so far we're tying best start years of the past. :noidea: It's early of course but amazing how well the team is doing IN SPITE OF the pitching staff. Finally we have some younger guys who are hungry to play for W's with a couple older vets to lead them along. :thumb:

It's crazy how awesome this team has started, but I hope the front office keeps their eye on the plan moving forward. No need to all of a sudden push for a playoff spot. Though, it will be interesting if this team is in first at the deadline and how the team approaches it because this would probably mean that our expensive yet aging vets would be doing good. It's conceivable that we are sellers even in the event we are in a playoff spot at the deadline. I would hope that the front office looks at that situation as a sell high opportunity rather than being a buyer stunting the growth of our core. In the mean time, keep raking Bruce!!!! Net us some prospects!!

I think in the event of being in first place
At the deadline the mariners would still
Trade
Encarnacion
The jury is still out on Vogelbach
Then if doing well at deadline they keep
Bruce

They would need to trade either EE or voggy though
The rest is bull pen ...who knows on that

In the event of doing poorly at deadline then
You could add bruce to the trade list...if..he is back to his normal self...then bull pen guys
Again

I have to say I was quite surprised when I got home around the 5th inning that somehow Felix was still in the game and had only given up 3 runs.

This is exactly my thought.

If the Mariners had decided on doing a rebuild last year around the trade deadline, they could've landed a lot more for the guys we traded away.

I'm not sold on Voggy... Seems to always be hurt... Reminds me of CJ Prosise... We just keep hanging onto him hoping he will pan out...

This is why I hope Bruce continue to rake, he will be a valuable asset by the deadline.

Same with Encarnacion, I believe he will heat up and hopefully bring something decent in return as well.

Winning is great but we have to look at the bigger picture.

Yeah, 3 runs but only 1 earned, the other 2 was bad defense. Regardless, a start like this will do great for his confidence and hopefully he’s out to prove his doubters wrong.

Correction: Encarnacion is a scratch for Vogelbach

This is a really really solid start for Marco. Ended a 17 in a row batter retire streak in the 7th. Game is cruising by.

Thursday's game against Chicago (their Home Opener) postponed to Friday due to the weather forecast.

Not sure where you're getting this. Vogelbach was never out because of injury. He's just never been given a long leash to perform at this level.

No he really hasn't....I mean they call him up every September but that is spot work
