Ok Perfect ill take a start from zero, tell me if these picks even make sense. Basically my understanding is you want the team on the left to beat the team on the right by as many points as possible, and if the team on the right happens to win you get negative points?

Correct. If the team you pick to lose, wins, you get a -10. But if they lose, it's 1 point for every point they win by.
