Are you surprised?

#outofexcuses

hell no, guy's pretty much been exposed for what he is and it's clear that everyone can SEE what he's made of. but imo talking all that shit for THAT long makes the guy look pretty hollow when push comes to shove...

ah well, life goes on...

He said guys, not PF.
Tristan wouldn't make 3rd team all NCAA.

Yeah because it makes total sense to compare back court players to front court players. And I think it's silly to say he couldn't have made 3rd team NCAA. His only year in college he averaged 13.1 ppg, 7.8 reb's, 1.3 asts & 2.4 blks. Those #'s would have only gotten better had he not left Texas after 1 years.

He's listed as a Center.

In the 2015-16 regular season there were 29 players at that position with better PPG, 11 players better in RPG, 35 players better in blocks.

And he didn't even make the top 20 in FG%

Again, Centers alone, not even including PFs

According to basketball-reference.com he's a PF. I could see other sites listing him as a PF/C. Although I still think the Cavs were crazy to give him that contract.

I agree with this. These guys are in the NBA for a reason

Which makes it even worse for him.

Combine PFs and Centers and Thompson ranks 58th in PPG, 58th in blocks and 17th in RPG

Damn, those aren't good #'s.

I know I like a bit of banter with the cavs fans but in this case the numbers speak for themselves.

Now factor in the fact he makes $16m a year...

100% No Doubt

It's sure looking like another runner up trophy to me.
Am I the only one that thought both WC teams looked pretty vulnerable yesterday?

Overall no doubt that the western conference champ will pose a very real threat to the Cavs title chances... but game 6 would be the last game I'd point to in terms of the west looking scary.

If anything last night had me feeling more confident about the Cavs. The thunder had started to look pretty scary.

Zero doubt Warriors can win in The Land.
Good luck winning at least twice in Oakland assuming Warriors win.

did u watch the playoffs? he had to be taken off the floor time and time again...the Charlotte series was embarrassing...the whole Hornets game plan was for Lin and Walker to put Whiteside in as many pick and rolls and cook him to a fine crisp- and it happened over and over again.

those guys just arent guys you pay in todays NBA...spend your money on shooters and versatile defenders- plodding centers? dime a dozen unless you intend to build your team around them howard/cousins/drummond style.

 First of all, he wasn't taken off the court because he's a "slow, plodding center."

Second of all, I have also seen a certain member of the Cavs "big 3" sit out entire 4th quarters and he's being paid a hell of a lot more money.

I guess he's "slow and plodding" too.
