Best game Minnesota has played in probably 4 years. What a win. Let's not screw it up by losing to PSU/Nebraska. Gophers in serious play for a double bye in the B1GT. Is this a dream. Holy shit

You really think so?

A 2-1 finish would put us with an RPI of 20 and an SoS of 22. At that point I'm assuming we'll be the 4/5 seed. Getting to the semis will add another "quality" win(bubble team/team in consideration depending on who it could be). Going 1-1 in DC will still keep us at a 20 RPI and the SoS will be 20th. Give or take. At that point I think we should be a 5 seed. 24-9 overall.

A 5 seed would be the best non vacated seed in Gophers program history. This is one of the best regular seasons in the modern era for the Gophers.

Wisconsin can't like the trend that's developed either. The Gophers have won at Purdue and at Maryland now. The only team in the top 3 currently that they haven't beaten on the road yet is Wisconsin, and we go there for the regular season finale. :heh:

Boy I was really impressed with the offensive talent Minnesota displayed last night. They had a number of players who could score a number of ways, I was worried very early that Maryland would have trouble keeping up. They had another cold shooting night and despite really good passing and rebounding they simply didn't make their shots from 3. Their game is taking it off the dribble and getting in the lane and drawing fouls. The BIG officials are clearly letting teams play a lot more this year and it's really hurting Maryland's game.

This was probably Minnesota's best game they've played all year. Everything seemed to be clicking for us. When McBrayer plays like he did last night, that adds a whole new element to Minnesota's ceiling. Problem is he's been so inconsistent.

Thanks, it really was. Honestly, probably the best game the Gophers have played in 4 years. I didn't expect to win. This is somewhat new territory for us Gophers fans. lol.

So maybe 7 teams make the field? If Michigan can beat Purdue this weekend, I feel like they are in.

I think Purdue, Wisconsin, Maryland and Minnesota are locks. MSU, MICHIGAN, NW are all in right now and should be locks with 1 or 2 more wins. After that I thinl Indiana, OSU, Illinois are all still alive to varying degrees but probably need to win out regular season and then get 1 at least in the B10 tourney to really give themselves a shot

I'm actually not convinced the Terps are in. They are hitting a really bad stretch and have an injury, they could very well lose several more allowing other teams to pass them.

If this happens the Terps board will be in full meltdown mode. There is a handful of Mark Turgeon haters that crawl out from under the bed after they lose. I have no idea where they get such a sense if entitlement where 28-7; 27-9 and 22-6 is somehow beneath their standards. They act as if Maryland is Kentucky and expected to be Final Four regulars. It's amazing.

If MD did somehow manage to lose out, which would be quite shocking considering they get Iowa at home and they play Rutgers(followed up by MSU at home), and did lose their first round game in the B1GT to let's say Penn State, they'd still have a top 50 RPI and an SOS in the low 50's. I can't imagine they'd be left out at 21-10. Their resume wouldn't be the best, but they'd still have wins over Kansas State(team in consideration), Oklahoma State(win against the field), Michigan(team in consideration), Minnesota(win against the field), Northwestern(win against the field/team in consideration). When 14 loss teams are going to get in somewhat comfortably(projecting out for Syracuse), I don't see how MD even with losing out could miss. If they did lose out my guess is they would probably be among the last 4 byes.

Also, I think NW needs to be extremely careful down the stretch here. If they go 1-2, which seems very likely(heck even 0-3 is possible), they are going to need to do some damage in DC, especially if they go 0-3. They may need to get to the Finals w/an 0-3 finish.
