Still have Derrick Mills coming in
he's fall though right? i just meant for this spring. lots of walk-ins going to be getting time in the spring game. If Mazour was ever going to crack more than backup playing time, this is the year.

there's also something to be said about the schedule. i don't recall anyone prior to SF that spread out the spring ball the way the Husker's are doing this year. I honestly thought there were some rules against how long it can go on. They started practice Monday March 4th, the spring game isn't until April 13th. i believe they only have 15 practices, there are 6 weeks and i'm sure 1 is spring break, so basically 5 weeks, or roughly 3 practices a week. then they can give instruction between practices and do film study and try and clean things up mentally. just seems like a lot more learning that way, instead of cranking all 15 practices out in a 3 or 4 week time span.

Frost inherited so much shit to get fixed.

Getting shoved around in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
LB's and DB's being slow and flat footed.
Horrendous special teams play on both sides of the ball.
Penalties/Attention to detail
Turnover ratio

Did I miss anything?

Part of it's Strength & Conditioning, part of it's talent, and part of it's coaching.

The only constant over the past 20 years have been the fans.

i drank the Koolaid at the end of last year when I saw how easy the 2019 schedule was going to be.

Reality is beginning to set in now.

QB great. Stud. Exciting. Then what.

Running Back. Who is it? Will Dedrick Mills be the guy I thought Greg Bell would be last year, or will Dedrick Mills be what Greg Bell turned out to be? Will Maurice Washington be eligible? No clue. Is Bradley anything? Not in my mind. My hope is Rahmir Johnson is a good as I think he is.

Wide Receiver. Replacing Stanley Morgan will be tough. Will one of those freshman receivers be the guy? i do like the three incoming freshman receivers plus Wandale Robinson.

Tight Ends did anyone really step up last year? not for me.

Center. Lost tanner Farmer who actually turned out pretty good. Who the heck is the center? I thought Waggoner might be it, but I have read that he is sort of small. Not good.

OL. I am sort of confident there is something good going on with jaimes, Farniok, and Wilson, but then who?

DL. Did anything change? I hope the older Daniels can play, that would help or that Ty Robinson because a super stud.

Linebackers. Barry and Domann. then who?

Cornerbacks are ok, but if no pass rush, OMG.

Safeties. No clue.

Punt returner/kick returner, could be exciting for a freshman back there, let's hope fumbling is not an issue.

Punter Upgraded when Armstrong replaced whats his name. How many punters on team now?

placekicker seem solid.

I still see Nebraska going bowling in 2019 season.

If you believe what you're reading about Strength & Conditioning, that should be worth at least 2 games there.

I expect the offense and defense to be at least 7 points better on both sides of the ball. That's a 14 point swing and would have made a big W/L difference last season.

not sure 7 on each side, i'd go more like 3, maybe 7 in total. maybe in 2020 it's 7 on each side.

I'll stick with 7 pts on each side of the ball.

thanks for posting the numbers, easier to visualize. alright, i guess i can see it on offense, especially with the schedule. not sure the defense can get down there though, some dudes really need to step up.

UCF Scoring Defense

2015: 117th (37.7 ppg) Pre-Frost/Chinander
2016: 42nd (24.6 ppg)
2017: 52nd (25.3 ppg)

Nebraska Scoring Defense

2017: 115th (36.4 ppg) Pre-Frost/Chinander
2018: 88th (31.3 ppg)

Most improvement was made year one at UCF. There were some prolific offenses in the AAC in 2017 (USF & Memphis) so I can see how they went sideways defensively in their 2nd year there.

Big 10 offenses are still primarily 3 yds and a cloud of dust. With the reported improvement in Strength & Conditioning, Nebraska should be better up front earlier this season. Nebraska's been shoved around the trenches and hopefully that is going to stop. As you said, with the easier schedule than last season, I think getting to 24 ppg (shaving 7 ppg from last season) is a reasonable expectation.
