Although it is great to see Nebraska back in the baseball poll, baseball polls are like basketball polls. There is this giant tourney at the end of the year. The polls for both sports mean absolutely nothing. Was Fresno St highly ranked in 2008 going into the tourney? Well they ended the entire year #1 because they won the CWS. That is all that matters. Nebraska needs to just keep playing the way they are.

Couldn't agree more. You just want to make the field of 64 and the opportunity has been provided.

Rankings can help in hosting Regionals and Super Regionals, but even then there are politics involved regarding revenue generation. The larger/nicer facilities are going to host, but you need a decent ranking to be part of the conversation.

Wow, Nebraska sweeps Texas, only allows 3 runs, and Texas is still rated higher by the coaches.

Even the Texas fans say their baseball offense is terrible.

Just shows that Blue Bloods in the sports do get favoritism. Nebraska used to get it in football.

Nebraska just has to earn it in baseball and earn it back in football.

Good motivation for Erstad to use though.
