They still need a backup small forward though.

Basically, they should shop for a veteran warm body that wants to play for a winner.

Ginobili and Green can play a little bit of SF....and sometimes Diaw if necessary.....

But, K-Leonard is the only true SF on the entire roster.

That being said, it is a good day in San Antonio.

Can't wait for future matchups between golden state

That picture of Aldridge in downtown Phoenix reminds me of what the Lakers did with Howard. "Please come and play here!" LOL! Don't know if the Spurs are going to re-sign Ginobili but if they add West, they'll be stout. I'd still take the Dubs though in a conference finals.

Has there been a franchise in any sport that makes the right moves at the right time more consistently than the Spurs over the past 20 or so years?

It takes a lot of cooperation from the players to allow it to happen.
They deserve all of the winning that they have accomplished because they as a core group have all made team success there #1 priority.

West is going to be very interesting next year. There are only 3 teams I see coming out the West. Spurs, Thunder, & Warriors....and in that order
I'd say the contenders list would be Spurs, Warriors, Thunder and Rockets.

I still wouldn't trust the Spurs without Parker playing at a high level but if they get that then theyll be pretty awesome

It's the Spurs system of team ball that generates their consistency. Nobody is above the team and Popovich and the FO all are on the same page. Even though they have many stars, the team is still the central theme. A guy like Carmelo Anthony wouldn't last a day in San Antonio because he has no concept of how to play in the Spurs team ball theme and as soon as he'd pulled that me/hero ball bullshit, he'd be gone.

agree he's serviceable. plus he'd be another guy Upshaw could learn from I guess...

With Koufos, he's a young hard working Center that would be great for our younger guys. I think he can be a 12/10 guy or better, not sure if he's a guy to work around, but it's far better than what we have now!

Suns cleared up all that space for nothing
yup and Kings did the same. Both teams failed. At least both got 1 of their chips. Rondo to the Kings and Chandler to the Suns. So they didn't come up empty.

Makes it much easier for Pops to rest Duncan throughout the season when you have Aldridge in there. I certainly expect them to be fighting for that top seed.
Yeah I don't think GS matches up well against the Spurs now. They won't be able to guard down low. Spurs should be the best team in the league.

SPURS were a horrible nightmare matchup for Golden State beforehand.

No other team has had their number like SA. I think they have won like 35 of the last 36 games in SA or something. It is a complete and utter mental block for GS.

Golden State is a great team, but SA is in their heads.
Not surprising, the SPURS were the only team last season with a winning record versus GS.

Obviously things can change....but the Spurs are the one team that GSW hates to play.
I think the Ws will look for some more bigs now on the cheap, especially if the Spurs get David West.

Also repeating in this league is hard. I don't see 60 wins next year for them

I agree Hornsstampede. The Spurs have definitely re-loaded but youth will be served. I'd probably take the Dubs in a seven-game Conference Final but it will be fun to watch.
