I am all for the completely ambiguous NFL rules when it comes to catches, fumbles, possession and replays. They might as well just allow a challenge to cause a 3 minute break in play and everybody can text in their vote - majority rules. It's a win-win as the NFL gets more commercial time to boot.

I'm not so sure the replacement refs of a few years back were any worse than the current refs of today. If it wasn't for the gambling I probably wouldn't even follow the league anymore.

The facemask didn't bring him down but he did get his thumb in there.

It was touched, yeah. And I absolutely don't blame the refs for calling it, because it took super slow-mo to see it wasn't really a violent facemask. That kind of thing is where the old 5 yard penalty would've come in handy. Regardless, the Lions would've found a way to Lion.
