How do you know he's a "diamond in the rough"?

Was a sarcastic remark. That's why I used quotations. It's been a phrase in common usage if you've followed Nebraska recruiting under pelini.

Nebraska thinks they see something 9 other Big Ten schools (including Indiana), and Notre Dame (20 miles away from his hometown) don't.

Actually "diamond in the rough" dates back to the Osborne era. Many NU players were later deemed to have been "diamonds in the rough" after they weren't highly recruited yet eventually excelled on the football field. Osborne and staff had a way of picking some of those guys out of nowhere.

I think Pelini was trying to emulate that, but this is a different day and age.

Nebraska's biggest play could come with the choice of 1 DB prospect.............Mackensie Alexander.

He is the #56 recruit overall according to Rivals (4 -star), and his twin brother (Mackenro Alexander - 3 star Safety) would likely come as a package deal. Their best friend Deadrin Senat - 4 star Defensive Tackle would also be interested in joining them as a package deal.

Alexander had originally made a pledge to Tennessee because of his relationship with Coach Joseph.

All 3 are interested in visiting Nebraska.

Idk if I'm comfortable saying they need to pull the trigger on a guy before hearing about him for if he fits Bo's scheme, but this seems pretty common sense to go ahead and stick your hand out.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check these guys out.

Senat's no slouch himself. He's exactly the kind of DT Bo is looking for now too. 6'1" 300.

Gonna be tough pulling these boys out of SEC country, but if they were open to going to Tenn, then obviously they're not dead set on a florida school.

The offer lists on those two guys alone makes your jaw drop.

But once again Joseph's SEC country contacts/connections are paying off.

Have to win a couple down there every year.

Looks like Cravens will not visit Nebraska or Mich. But will still make his college choice know on June 6th something to do with his schools finals. It looks like he will be a trojan.

About the same as Bo's previous classes IMO. I think it's picked up a wee bit, but they are just verbals at this point.

For recruiting to really pick-up, NU needs to get to and WIN a CCG.

NU doesn't close seasons strong enough and it hurts momentum going into recruiting season. It's getting more difficult to sell these kids on past glory.

Im pleased with the class so far

Good foundation.

Plenty of blue chip players will emerge during the season. Just need to win something meaningful as RA alluded to.

A BCS bowl game would land us a couple big fish. That is a fact.
