An interesting story on NU's next opponent Cal

They were the Cinderella @ last years CWS after finishing the PAC 10 in 6th place (13-13) (31-20). They ended their season in Omaha w/ a (38-22) record.

Their lone accomplishment in Omaha was eliminating Texas A&M.

The most interesting thing is the baseball program was slated to be dropped after last season until a fundraising effort led by alumni raised $9 million and saved the team in April 2011.

16 regionals with 4 teams in each regional double loss round robin and one team advances out of the regional.

8 super regionals with 2 teams? i think I am wrong here.

but 8 teams go to omaha.

Then 8 super regionals with 2 teams, 3 game series.

Then on the the CWS.

Btw, Nebraska is currently leading Kearney 2-0 in the 6th.
