I liked Todd Davis and his teammates liked him. He seemed productive. I'll take the handshake (Elbow bump?) and asked for an autograph. It's the kind of a move that seems like there's something yet to come.

Josey Jewell might be safe I predicted he would get cut.

He was safe without Davis cut. I never really considered him in danger. Role player with Starting experience and good on special teams with cheap contract. Can’t get much better for a depth LB. ( Doesn’t mean we want him starting)

Davis was ok to me. Liability in coverage, decent as a tackler. Good teammate. Thumper who was fearless but an average LB af 4.5 m. Alexander Johnson is the real reason Todd Davis has been released. We have a very good ILB in him and Davis is no longer worth 4.5 because of it. I think this is something we considered all offseason and when he got injured again it was time to pull the plug on his contract.

I do think just like TJ Ward’s release this time of year that it could hurt team chemistry a bit. He waa definitely well liked.


Could he be a re-sign after week 1? I think possible.

Davis was a good Bronco, good team mate and leader. But like was said, his shortcomings started to become major liabilities. He was very good against the run. He gets a mile high salute and handshake from me

I keep saying - though I haven't seen it yet - Jewell's 3 cone time is way under 7 seconds which is elite - and should be an indicator that he can cover short zone passing assignments - if he gets there fast enough.

Jewell showed great ball hawk and a nose for the football at Iowa. Haven’t seen it yet but very capable and like I said he provides a lot to the team. Smart, starting experience, special teams and leadership skills. Things that aren’t fancy but things that keep players around for a long time. While he may not make play behind the lines galore he is a dependable tackler. Use him right and he serves a great role.
