Has no one mentioned a college education? :pound:

A UT degree carried alot of weight especially here in Tejas.

You get a free reasonably marketable degree pretty much anywhere, and if you throw in that you were able to do what was needed to compete for a DI football program you shouldn't have too much issue getting a job. There's obviously a difference among schools but not so much to make it too big of a factor.

What evidence. You didn't put any numbers to your claims.

Kids have fairly short memories, so just a quick internet search found me the following: Schools with most NFL draft picks since 2000; Ohio State leads | Sports

So, since 2000 here are the schools with the most draft picks:
1. Ohio State 82
2. Miami 81
3. USC 80
4. Georgia 75
5. Florida State 66
6. LSU 66
7. Gators 65
8. Tennessee 63
9. Sooners 60
10. Virginia Tech 58
Also: Badgers 57, Crimson Tide 55, Wolverines 54, Texas 52, Hawkeyes 51, Penn State 50

Wow, aside from probably Wisconsin and Iowa these are usually the schools with the highest rated recruiting classes. Note that Iowa is 15th, not #1.

Now look at how many players become UFA. There was a five year stretch where all but two players made it to training camp for Ferentz. Most of those guys were undrafted because of the same "athleticism" concerns that made them 2-3 star recruits.

I mean, look at the thread on the Hoop about the percentage of 4-5 stars who got drafted. It was loaded with top recruiting schools at the bottom. If recruits decided where to go based mostly off of the chance to go to the NFL, this wouldn't be the case at all.

im not denying that texas is all those things

UT DOES sit in a hotbed of talent, but Austin DOES NOT give that southern city vibe that all the southern schools do.

Yeah, texas is a greatly branded school, i acknowledged that. i just said it wasnt as "flashy" (logo or uniform wise) as oregon

i mentioned that texas did have pretty recent success

i didnt mention the NFL player count, but i also didnt discredit it

i think its a great arguement because texas pulls in the talent despite going against quite a number of the arguments that people are making in this thread

As someone mention Texas can't develop or push its talent. That their problem and flipping coaches every other snap doesn't help either.

Yeah their not Oregon flashy but everything around that city and state is dedicated to them. This is the first time in over 20 year tamu fans have more publicly and swagger about them over or compared to Texas

I think your argument would be better if Texas wasn't sitting on black gold talent wise. I still respect it but Texas will always get fame no matter how bad they are Oregon stuff is all over va from flag teams to semi pro teams using their color combo and playing style....

Also one point I want to say kids don't watch college football religiously as fans do so unles the media is bumping your or that player has favorite team. When you read interviews by some recruits you see that they aren't gonna go look too much outside of their view area unless that team is elite or having a good run.

You laugh, but there is a lot of truth to it. I think the stereotypes that their girls are more attractive is a big reason for the SECs rise from the mid 1990s to present. It's one of the reasons why I so vehemently objected to the B1G hate in the attractive fanbases thread.
