I think you forgot to mention Scherff and Flowers not being here is a huge difference. If you watched San Fran vs. LA they are missing guys too but damn, somehow they executed. The last good coach as far as running was concerned was named Shanahan but most ragged on those guys and wanted them gone .... the OLineman I mean. Some went on to play in SBs.

I also agree they gave up too much to get someone that the dickhead owner wanted out no matter what.

Although I liked Scherff I understood not paying that much for him. I would have been okay if they signed him and put Wes at right guard.. Flowers I did not get. Ironman was my favorite player but something with him and JDR never clicked. So they drafted Mathis .... sadly he lasted less than a half.

Folks talk about needing a LBer or two and at least one CB. They now need two guards and a center also. Chase will have played 10 games the last two years.

duke is right about a GM, I am just a realist that knows Dan won't hire one. It has been Vinny or Bruce or RR ... none of who were qualified for that position. Kyle Smith was the only one I trusted and he got fired for not being a Ron guy and for letting his feelings be known about Haskins.

Like I told duke a little bit again I can't not be a fan of Washington after 58 years but I don't expect anything good to happen. I hoped Wentz would help but the letting both Scherff and Flowers go neutered him.

Like you or Sportster said, it is going to come down to Rivera the Coach vs Rivera the GM.

Again, look for a small run on wins in which Wentz looks like a Pro Bowler. However, in the long haul, this is a doomed marriage.

I do however see LB, OL or possibly corner as you mention but improvement is required at every level of our defense to include coaching. At least TH and Howell have some ability to escape so they may fair better then Wentz. Cannot really do anything with this current Oline but hope they improve a bit from week to week.

If you give up two picks you might as well run with it until it's about to cost you the 2nd. I'm not as down on Wentz as some of you. I'm more down on this lopsided roster Ron put together and all the ex Panthers he continues to sign minus Samuel.

Maybe Heinicke gets in there and all of the sudden the o-line isn't bad. I doubt that though. I've seen enough from TH. I hope they go straight to Howell if they bench Carson.

What about trading him at the deadline to get something in return? Maybe another team will get tricked? Rivera will not do this as it will be admitting to the mistake.

Heck, I would look to move players at the deadline so we at least start to build a solid core. There again, its Rivera the Coach vs Rivera the GM time again.

I wasn't a fan of the trade and I have the post on here to prove it, but I do think we can win with him. Everything has to be ideal around him for that to happen though.

The o line is a mess. The secondary is a mess. Sweat is on pace for zero sacks. I'm not expecting anything from Chase when he gets back. I don't know why. I'm just not.

Word is Terry has already gone to Scott and asked for the ball.

We'll know a lot more by Sunday night. This is code red. 1-4 and you aren't catching Dallas or Philly. You know the West is gonna send two teams and maybe the North. So 3rd in the East is a non starter this year.
