Its been less than a week and already five people have indicated interest.

The new price is supposedly blowing past $5billion towards $7billion.

This franchise was a premire nfl franchise back in the day. Put a good product on a good field with good fan experience and the team will sell out again.

That's right.. Jay Z wants to buy them. Hadn't heard 5 people but that's cool. So is Snyder going to completely be done with the team or still have a minority share?

I see a few more wins (HOU and CLE) but I am thinking the Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, and 49ers beat them. The Falcons game will be a toss-up.
I have never been a fan of Rivera or the coaching staff..., especially Turner. I am counting down the games until they all get out of town along with Wentz.

My concern is that IF the sale is final in March 2023, it will be during the 2023 owners' meeting which is 3/27 - 3/29. Free agency starts on 3/15/23. We simply cannot have Rivera be in charge of yet another free agency period, but he obviously would be. I am sure one of the first orders of business for the new owner will be to fire Rivera/front office and bring in their hand-picked GM. Unfortatentely, if the article below if correct, the bulk of free agency will be over by the time the new GM gets in place. I cannot think of a reason why the new owner/owners would keep Rivera around at all. I wonder how Rivera will approach free agency or will Snyder tell him to stay put and not do anything?

Thanks for the link. Hopefully it works out well
We hope so as well.

It's been a long ride.

Just hoping this is all legit and that the right owner comes along. This fan base deserves it in all honesty.

Who would you prefer to buy the team Chiller?

Anybody who is willing to spend enough money to field a competitive team, on a well maintained, well thought of field, with good amenities for players and fans, and accompanying infrastructure upgrades.

The easiest would be bezos, but my worry is that it would just be part of his portfolio, and not the centerpiece of it.

I like the idea of Jay-Z / Byron Allen as owners because at the very least they’re minority ownership, which should exorcize whatever demons still plague the franchise and dont have enough money to not work like hell to make it work for them, but I have no idea what kind of owners they will be. I also heard that Jay-Z did something with the Nets, but I dont follow pro basketball in the slightest.

The field sucks.
The stadium sucks.
The traffic sucks.
The entire experience sucks.
The team sucks.
The pricing sucks.
The name sucks.
The merchandize sucks.
The constant scandals suck.

Basically anybody who could address ANY of these things would be who I would hope for.

How about you?

I agree and I am with you brother.

I guess for me, it boils down to integrity, money, and common sense.

Bezos checks a lot of boxes. I think he would give the new GM the funds to spend as they see fit. I also think building a new stadium is paramount and the new owner will need to spend on that. I want the new owner to have the humility or common sense to admit they don't know everything and hire the people that do. I agree that Bezos could use the Commanders as a toy while he concentrates on Amazon.

I am prone to like Jay Z simply because I love his music...LOL. He is incredibly intelligent and is successful at everything he does. Seeing Jay Z and Beyonce with Commanders gear on in the owners box would send a message to the league. Byron Allen seems awesome as well and I agree that it would go a long way to addressing the past under Marshall. It would be great for the Commanders to be the first team to have an African-American owner as well.

Basically, the fans need hope and the new owner needs to give us that hope. We need to stop being the punchline of every joke. I am leaning toward Bezos and Jay Z. Allen seems like he would be great as well but I don't think he has the funds. Not sure how I feel about Kevin Durant jumping in with Jay Z and Bezos.

Big fan of Hova as well. Love his rags to riches story. He doesnt have enough money on his own, but maybe he and Allen could do it…

I dont care one way or another about Durant, who wore Dallas gear or yankees gear or some shot like that to a game at some point if I’m not mistaken.

I also dont know why a billionaire would want a millionaire to join hin in ownership, if I’m being perfectly honest.

Allegedly Jay Z and Bezos are friends? I am no celebrity gossip expert but that is my understanding.

I said integrity because I am tired of the Snyder stories and I believe most of them are true. We are innocent until proven guilty but there are literally dozens of witnesses who have testified against Snyder. I look forward to the day when that goes away.

Kevin Durant is a life long Redskin fan that grew up in Seat Pleasant ... straight down E. Capital to RFK and just a tad further from Fed Ex.

Other than Jay Z being a possible minority owner what does Beyonce have to do with a potential good team? Other than you like her. :thumb:

Final decision would be on Bezos but I see Jay Z as a potential conflict of interest as an agent. I just Googled it and I believe the only football player he has ties to is Saquan Barkley. That would be an interest. LOL

duke, you are correct .... from NYP "Bezos and Jay-Z are longtime friends, and Jay-Z spent time aboard Bezos’ yacht in September."

Your point about Bezos is accurate in that he has many competing interests. But that may not be bad. He hopefully would hire a competent GM and let them run the team. I’ve had enough of an owner who has nothing better to do that use the team as his personal play thing.
