Alright so injury report came out today. Have to love the way that Kubiak put it...

"We're at full strength at practice today for the first time in...probably 10 weeks." If you are counting that means week 1.

Wolfe and Talib were not even limited participants. They practiced in full.

This is great news because it's going to take a complete deck to beat the Chiefs. The Broncos really need to even out that AFC West record.

Not to pile on but I'll echo the thoughts of others who disagree with your statement. Splitting with a team is far from "owning" them. "Owning" a team would be a 7-1 record vs said team in a 4 year stretch. Now you can look at the two games and say this: The Broncos won a 1-score game in KC and the Chiefs won decisively in Denver. But in terms of wins and losses a 1 point win weighs as much in the W-L columns as does a 40 point loss.

The other thing is this: I fundamentally reject with extreme prejudice the notion that the Broncos "got lucky" in the KC game. The Chiefs had every reason to win that game: Home opener after a road win to start the season, home game on a short week (TNF), emotionally charged atmosphere with Berry returning and these other factors at play, nemesis rival who's bitch-slapped you around for the past few seasons, Broncos making their first road start of the season and of Kubiak's coaching tenure in Denver (never know how a team will respond in that scenario) as well as the new system being a bad fit for Manning's skill set. Combine all that with a 14 point lead and the Chiefs should have run away with that game. But the Broncos responded, including deliberately scouting Jamaal Charles and honing in on his style of carrying the ball when he runs as a potential to create a turnover. And they executed, too. That's not luck. It's also not luck that the Broncos won that game the way they did.

With the score 24-17 the Chiefs had no answer for the Broncos offense. The Broncos scored and tied the game with a drive that started (if I'm not mistaken) with just 2:21 remaining. Then the Chiefs attempted to play for the win instead of taking a knee for OT and that did them in. That's not luck, that's execution.

Again, I don't mean to pile it on, I just don't do that "luck" narrative. You can shoot that with a 12 gauge and then tie it to a cinder block and drop it into a gator-infested swamp.

The strip can be practiced. The bounce of an oblong ball into your hands is luck.

That fumble took place within game winning FG distance. That the play was a scoop and score is the difference between a 31-24 and 27-24 final score. But it wasn't luck. It was a forced fumble and a Broncos player in position for a play. That's head's up football.

Talib - this season - has made the Broncos demonstrably better on defense - by about a TD a game. Glad to see him back - same with D. Ware - they make the defense automatically better.

The Broncos are also about to settle on their best 5 OL - then lets see if the run game explodes.

"Settle" is the key word in that sentence Mingo. ;)

Happy Turkey day Scott,

I remember it because I thought no way Denver could lose to the 5-10 49ers on the last day. I think Champ picked off a pass and returned it for a TD. Tough way to end the season.

“We just know this is our time. This is the time of year where a lot of teams fall off and they can’t continue to stay on that ride and continue to get better. But this is a time we know we’ve got to turn it up another notch.”~Chris Harris Jr.

Based on team stats,

KC and Denver are pretty much even in crappy run defense. Denver though is #1 in pass defense.

KC and Denver are the same in rushing offense.

If neither team can rush the ball our pass D is better than KC but KC is better at takeaways and scoring on those turnovers.

I do agree the Chiefs are better at take aways but they are greatly helped by that 7 interception game against the Jets. That is an anomaly. It hadn't happened since 2001 just to give you an idea how crazy that game was. So I would still consider the two teams pretty darn close in that category as the Broncos have done a better job consistently every game having that be a part of the game for the defense. We have actually only had 1 game where we did not have a turnover and that was the Raiders game. They actually had a couple if I remember right overturned by review so they were close in that one.

watching pregame on fox, jay glazer talking about demarcus ware battling a back injury this offseason... but not a typical one... he had a bacterial infection that threatened his entire season. in incredible pain and could have gotten worse.

Is anyone else feeling optimistic about this game? I don't think the Broncos blow out the Chiefs, but I feel it's going to be a game they control throughout. Ironically enough...my confidence about the Broncos in this game should be cause for concern!

I was just thinking this as I signed on to this thread - IKno. I don't have any reason in particular, but if the Broncos play their game - they win. This is the post season run baby!

Honestly this game says a lot more about Denver than KC. KC is injured to hell and back and really should have no chance.
