Lincecum will be a free agent this coming off season, and he hasn't been the ace he was the last couple seasons (16-27, 4.82 ERA). I imagine that by not rebounding enough from last year's debacle. He is from Renton and pitched at UW.

So, should the Mariners make a run at him with the issues they've had pitching this season?
If so, how much should the realistically offer him?
Also, would a change of scenery back to Seattle bring him back to his 2008-2011 form?

Imo we leave that one alone. Something has brought his game down several notches and usually when that happens surgery is not far behind

Yeah but if I remember right Timmy likes short contracts. Why not give him a chance? A 1yr deal so he can establish value again and what better a place but home?

Last year or the year before no problem. If he is willing to take a low dollar contract with incentives I would do it and make him the number 5. But no doubt his agent will play the "well timmy was this" card and try to drive the price up. I am not against him by any means but don't want him to be a budget buster either until after we get the 2 outfielders we sorely need

I like the idea of bringing in Lincecum. That said bringing him back needs to be contingent on price tag. With his declining numbers he might be cheaper. I don't think he will ever be back to his 2008-2011 form but I do think he can pitch better than he has the last few seasons.

I'd like to sign him but not if his price is influenced by his previous performances. The Mariners need more rotation depth and Timmy would give us that, hopefully at a hometown discount and a possible high upside.
