And on such a freak play too!?

A true Bears icon, from his one-handed theft of Randy Moss in his rookie season to last nite. A true professional and remarkable human to boot. I wish him a speedy recovery and and a prosperous future.

Best Bears DB of all-time in this man's humble opinion.

I don't even think Tillman can perform at the same level as Fuller, in this stage of his career.

Very unfortunate injury, but not one that's overly crushing to the team.

Sad to see him go. You can really see his passion for the game in that clip of WB... Football is a young mans game. So far so good with Fuller stepping up!

Yeah... this sucks. I hate to see Peanut go out like this. And judging by that footage from last night, he knows the end of his career is coming that much closer.

End of an era for sure. I will NEVER forget when he stole the ball from Randy Moss in the end zone. Nobody punches balls better than Peanut either.

Peanut is a Chicago Bear legend IMO. I think after he hangs up the cleats, we'll all reflect on his career and hold him in a higher regard than the actual perception of how good he really was to NFL fans outside of Chicago.

The inventor of the ball punch, all the big plays and the toughness he displayed throughout his career make him an all time fan favorite.

Personally, I don't think he's Hall of Fame worthy....but that won't take away from what he accomplished.

Peanut was as great of a man and teammate as he was a player. One of the easiest athletes to root for.

This is what I am hoping for if in fact he accepts his career is done. Its probably like alot of players, deciding if he wants to go thru preparation for another year. He would probably be able to come back for the playoffs, but the way this roster is going down with injuries, they needed to put him on season ending. I am sure he can come back and play nickel, but he wanted to end his career where he started.

If he chooses he will be able to coach anywhere he wants, they need to make him an offer early when he decides because someone is gonna get him quick.

Probably one of my favorite current Bears.

Sad to see his career end like...just as it was sad seeing Urlacher's end like his did.

Wish we had management in place at the time to give these aging stalwarts a chance of a ring but alas it's not to be.

Guess it's kinda like how Mattingly felt by just missing out on the 90's Yankees dynasty (not that we're even close to having a dynasty...but imagine this offense paired up with the mid-late 2000's era defense?)

Like many of us on here... He is one of my all-time favorite Bears. Classy and professional...it's a shame the rest of the NFL and nation didn't see what we saw until late in his career. It's been widely reported that Charles isn't interested in coaching, or switching to Safety...and has said on a few occasions that he wanted to end his career with his draft class mates...(I believe only Briggs remains) I know he also is a steadfast teammate and will do anything in his power to continue to help this team as it moves forward. I wish him all the best and a happy and healthy retirement, if that's what he chooses.
Peanut- before you go...teach some guys how to PUNCH! You will be missed!
