Another good thing here.

The Tigers can now move Jackson out of the leafoff spot. This will net them more runs scored in the process, as Davis does not strike out nearly as much as Jackson.

Smart move by the Tigers to remove him from the lead-off spot.

Maybe a team with a new $ 7 BILLION t.v deal???

:yahoo:

I'm shocked they didn't run at Cano with the way they are throwing money around

They had already signed a Cuban kid to play 2B, otherwise they would have. Now, they are trying to figure out how to get David Price without giving up all their prospects of note.

forgot about that. Right now do you really think Dodgers management is thinking about the future? With the moves they are making, it makes me think to me its for the here and now (and maybe 1-2 years down the line)

The key for the Dodgers will be to move Kemp or Either.

Get out from under those contracts and free up a roster space. The gravy is to trade for enough prospects to replace the ones you need to send Tampa Bay.

I hear Detroit is talking they do not believe they can resign Max Scherzer next season. I wonder if it is a ploy to work Max into a friendly contract or a sign to teams that if they want him he can be made available.

But he gets on base even less than Jackson.

Kinsler is my bet to leadoff.

The next two are the only real questions as Tori Hunter may be the best bet to go into the 5th spot in the order.

Too bad the Rays are not interested in swapping Kemp for Price, as that move I could get behind. Aside from that, I hope Ethier goes. The Dodgers can pay for better.

I see no reason why they can not do both. They can bring in expensive young talent, and actually keep it, as long as they are willing to spend to do so.

Davis you mean? I did not know that. If this is true, then scratch my previous comment and statement.

Yeah, Davis last season. It was only 60some pa's I think though. Against lefties I'd be okay seeing him at the top from time to time. Personally though, Jackson doesn't seem like that bad of an option. When he's scuffling the offense scuffles but I general he's a decent option. I'd rather have Austin first than second or fifth.

Wow. Opinion changed then.

However, if they lose Infante as it looks like they will, either Davis or Jackson will need to hit 2nd. With both on board now, I just don't see Kinsler as a fit at either 1 or 2 due to his pop, making him a much better 4 or 5 option.

True but their spending to me shows "right now" mentality

They could stick with Hunter in the two hole again. But I kinda figure he'll move to the 5spot in the order. It'll be interesting to see how it all shapes up. Not certain that DD is done moving/adding pieces.

Davis drew 0 walks in 72 PA batting #1 in 2013. He did bat .304 and had a HBP to give him a .306 OBP.
