Midnightangel
Troll slayer
Just re watched it on DVD.
1) Odd to see WR's putting their hands down on the LOS. I guess there was a rule back then that anyone that was on the LOS had to have their hand down. Just weird seeing WR's in a three point stance. I'm glad they changed that. I'm also glad they eventually outlawed that whole 'we'll put our hand on the ground and all stand up at the same time' thing Dallas did. Just annoying.
2) The zebra's use to make the penalty call to both sides of the field.
3) Fashions sucked back then. Stands were packed with "Farrah do's" and people in weird hats. Some guy on the sideline for the 'Boys named 'Crazy Ray' that actually had a spicot attached to his hat and water coming out of it.
4) Roger Staubach had a REALLY long day. The Cowboy offense just about went nowhere. Poor guy was sacked 7 times and threw 3 INT's.
5) Scoring for the Steelers was weird. The final was 21-17 but the Steelers got their 21 via 2 TD's (missed XP), a safety and 2 FG's.
6) That sideline pass from Bradshaw to Swann where Swann tip toes along the sideline was Terry's first pass of the game. The Steelers opened with 9 straight runs.
7) Not sure what the fascination was with the Goodyear blimp but they kept showing it.
8) Jack Lambert was a beast. I saw one play where he was in the hole before Newhouse was and tackled him the second the ball was handed off. I'm pretty sure that whole Cliff Harris patting our kicker on the head pissed him off.
9) The game was played early in the afternoon and was followed by golf coverage. Back then the SB didn't draw quite enough people watching it to put it in prime time.
10) It never hit me until today but Tom Landry never wore a headset.
