Thoughts on DT's with Bengals: Still, Thompson and Loss of Sims

I watched the 1st half of last season and I felt that Still wasnt doing anything that jumped off the screen to me....Brandon to me gets more push than Still does.. In the back of my mind I said to myself I dont see what everyone else sees... after watching him this preseason and listening to him talk with no passion in the meeting with Zimmer...My prediction is he will also be a BUST! There is OBVIOUS drop off when he comes into the game...He has no goals no drive and isn't motivated to take someone else's spot. Thompson on the other hand I saw some good things from him....I think he will be serviceable over time......

Bottomline I wish we never let Pat Sims go! When those starting DT's come out of the game I believe we will be in trouble! BIGTIME with run defense....

Still is a BUST! Show ME!

Prediction: After 2013 Still gets cut and Thompson stays....Somehow we get Pat Sims back....

Dont let my predictions cause you to over exaggerate that Im now saying all....Listen dude I didnt like the guy last year and dont like him this year I just never said shit...Now that what my eyes were in fact showing me was confirmed by Zimmer if he doesnt step up this season then he is a damn BUST!

As of now the 2 bust on the team are DRE and Still.....If they both show otherwise then I will respond with below....

I'm a huge Brandon Thompson fan as I had him going to the Steelers in the 1st Round of my mock last year so I think he's going to be fine. But I have to admit that I am a little concerned about Devon Still. Even though I'm not ready to write him off as a bust just yet I would have expected more from the 2011 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as he should have flashed more talent, even in the limited reps. And while I agree that Pat Sims was one of the most underrated DT's in the League it was time for him to move on. Sims had the tools to be dominating! If he stayed healthy and focused he could have been another Cortez Kennedy. Yes, he was that good! But he always seemed to loaf and do things half assed. If Coach Zim couldn't get through to him then I don't think anyone can. All we can do is with him well and hope the light finally comes on for him.

We're absolutely stacked at DT. I think if anything Peko will become expendable after Still and Thompson start showing more on the field.

Peko is never going anywhere. He's one of Marvin's soldiers. He basically has a contract for life. And though I find him to be a bit limited, I think he's a good guy to have on our defense.
