Sticking to my guns. Thomas, Krejci and Lucic all need to be traded and #1 priority is Parise.

a simple "BLOW IT UP!!!", would have sufficed i think

1 year removed from the cup and you want that much upheaval?

You got it. Niemi, Pavelski and Clowe for Thomas, Krejci and Lucic.....savings of $3M. :heh:

That's almost as crazy as Joe Thornton for Brad Stuart, Wayne Primeau, and Marco Sturm.

Almost.

No disrespect dasher, but I don't think it's that close to that trade at all. The trade I posed definitely favors the Sharks and Boston wouldn't do it.....that said, the only part that's crazy is the Niemi for Thomas part (and even then, you could throw out the age factor and the fact that Boston's defense >>> Sharks defense). The other two are similar. Pavelski scores more goals than Krejci (though points are a wash) and is very good in the faceoff circle and on the PK. Clowe had a down year last year, but him and Lucic are very similar players (although Lucic is a better skater and 5 years younger).

If I were Boston, I wouldn't make the trade above at all due to the age difference between Clowe and Lucic and because you could get more by trading all 3 players on Boston individually.....but the Joe Thornton for Brad Stuart essentially (I love Sturm.....one of my all time favorite Sharks but he was broken down as fuck.....and Primeau was a 4th Line Center) trade was much, much, much more lopsided. That trade was way worse as far as asset management. Although Boston did just win the Cup recently so.....

:heh:

None of those 3 players are overrated.

Not saying they aren't very talented guys, they are, but I think that they're overvalued to a degree, and that helps Boston in terms of trades. Those are the guys that would get huge returns in trades because they're overvalued in general.

At his age, you dont do that. Retire or play. You dont let Tuuka steal the show and try to steal it back.

Maybe he is planning his Thomas/Rask 2012 Campaign?

I mean, this is really just a bunch of speculation. It's just odd. I can't imagine he's under that much criticism, but I could be wrong. I'm a conservative religious person, so I can't imagine being "famous" because there's a different level of pressure to have certain beliefs, and if those aren't your beliefs you should just suppress them. That said, I think there's other stuff going on...maybe family issues, family coming under attack and felt the need to move them.

He's an NHL goalie, not Anne Frank.

Not being that dramatic, but if the kids are being bullied or something because of their Dad's comments? I'm clearly grasping at straws, but these reports are pretty much that.

First, I'd guess Thomas' kids are in private school. Second, kids are gonna find something to bully you about if they want to. So I understand the theory, I just doubt that's the reason (and saw a chance for a good zing P66 ;) ), just like I doubt the general political theology of the region has something to do with his move (as suggested in one of the articles). Is that something people actually think about when they move? "Oh, by the way, what is the prevailing political party in the area? We really want a house in a red state!" Kinda silly. Other forces likely at work here, though it certainly doesn't say "I plan on being a Bruin for years to come."
