Anyone you guys see as a team that can make a deep run from that 6 through 11 seed type team to a final 4? You probably need a great individual talent and some pretty solid experience and coaching. Any team you have your eye on that fits the bill?

Georgetown. They have size, shooting, athleticism, a decent coach, and people who can and are willing to take big shots. Of course, I'm a little biased because I've seen them play a lot this year and because they wiped the floor with us.

I'd also pick Oklahoma, but they've since risen above Cinderella status.

I like the Oklahoma State call. Not sure on the others. I think Ohio State is another team, just not sure if you're best guy being a freshman is good enough to make that work

Lunardi has Wichita State as a #7 seed in his latest Bracketology They are 26-3 with losses to Utah by a point, by 6 points to George Washington, and to Northern Iowa by 16. They are ranked #11 in the AP Poll. But that would suggest they aren't a sleeper.

Agree with NC State and Providence.

NC state has shown they can beat anyone on a hot shooting night. I could easily seeing them getting hot and going nuts.

Providence had Dunn. Dude is unreal, he could carry a team for 4 games no problem.

Maybe I've just seen too much of Oregon and OK state and their mediocrity to believe they could put together a run

I don't get the love for Ohio State. Sure Russell is awesome. But they aren't just very good. They've only beaten 2 tournament caliber teams with one being IU, who's nothing special. And they can't win away from home either.

Oregon is certainly a stretch as they aren't even guaranteed to make the tournament. But any team that takes a bunch of 3's can get hot and make a run IMO. Plus they are playing much better as of late. OK State has Forte and Nash. That's a good combo. Plus they've proven they can beat good teams. Not saying I'd pick this, just giving my reasoning.

Providence relies on Henton and Dunn too much and Dunn is a TO machine. I like Gtown or Butler better if we are going BE.

Idk if any of these 6-11 seed teams are that great to make a call.

Connecticut had an rpi of 43 entering the tourney Last year. Some majors in that range include nc state, pitt, ole miss, texas, Ohio st, iowa, cincinnati, lsu.. seems like slim pickings

That can't be correct regarding Uconn's RPI. They wouldn't have been a 7 seed if that was the case.

need guards who can draw fouls and make free throws. uconn made free throws and played defense. it really is that simple come tourney time

Wish I knew the answer to this question. Betting UConn at the beginning of last year's tournament would have paid off nicely.

Pretty sure I know one thing, however. Unlike last year, the team that does win tTourney this year won't be a team that Houston beat in the regular season!

I guess Michigan st. trice, valentine, and dawson. they have been player better lately though. might not qualify as a sleeper by then. their free throw shooting has been a joke

Could not agree more. If you can't make free throws then forget about making a run if you aren't a great team like MSU. If we could make some FTs and didn't rely on the 3 so much, I could see us going to the second weekend, but that looks doubtful.
