I have honestly never met a puck bunny or anyone who accused me of being one. I feel like this is either some weird myth or my experience is just abnormal. My sisters are all pens fans, female cousins, female friends...

...none of us has ever been accused of liking hockey because Kris Letang has nice hair.

Personally I haven't had the issue sans The Swamp (which is especially ridiculous, because you have to be a pretty dedicated female fan to be going on chat rooms to talk about hockey). That said, I have let Puck Bunnies and the like bother me, but sometimes I have to check myself because I get a bit elitist about people in general who are Pens fans. I'll meet a guy or gal (most of the time guy) who claims to be some huge Pens fan, and I'll try to start educated, informed conversation on them...and watch as their eyes glaze over. Gotta remember that it's not SportsHoopla in the real world, and most people just watch the games and that's that.

The Capitals have CLUB SCARLET, which is a marketing ploy towards women hockey fans. They do cheesey GQish pictures of the players (check out Mike Green's page on the site, it's pretty hilarious) and have information on how to learn about hockey. It's either offensive or brilliant, I can't decide.

Do other teams have something like this?

I know the Pens (i believe other teams as well) do a "Hockey 'n Heels" campaign.


The Steelers have a training camp for women also. I believe they discontinued it after Big Ben forced himself on the participants...

Most pro teams have a women's group to try to draw in more fans and they have nice get-together type events as well. That said...I'm not sure other teams are as...sexual as the Caps.
