The NCAA just doesn't have the balls, or the jurisdiction, to do what needs to happen. Which is lengthy prison terms for everyone involved. Same goes for other violations, until then, little will be done to curb any type of criminal action.

Fuck it here it goes. I realize that the Penn St crap is almost like politics and religion. Both sides believe what they will and neither side is going to change. I try to make it a rule to avoid talking politics and religion at almost all costs.

So here it goes, I am opening the gigantic can of worms.

I am so sick and tired of the "death penalty" talk with the Penn St football program. This is a LEGAL issue. This is not an NCAA issue. You all want justice? You all want revenge? The legal system will do that more than the NCAA would ever want to. There are people saying that if the NCAA is going to punish programs like Michigan for the Fab 5 or USC for Reggie Bush or a certain QB for eating a $5 sandwich for free on a plane, then they should punish Penn St. None of what those other things were were illegal. If the NCAA wants to investigate then fine. If during that investigation they find NCAA rules that were broken then punish away. When Baylor had that basketball player shot and the coach covered it up did the NCAA punish Baylor for that? NO!!!! They investigated Baylor and found other violations and punished those. The murder was a legal issue not an NCAA issue.

So the NCAA should give Penn St the death penalty because 1 guy that will be in prison now forever (and get murdered by inmates within a year or 2) raped little boys and 4-5 guys covered it up? If that is the case then shouldn't the catholic church get the death penalty? UH-OH!!!!!!!! Did I just go there?????

(I by no means am trying to diminish the disgusting nature of those crimes and I have an uncle that is a priest)

Everyone trashes the NCAA for punishing programs years later and hurting people that had nothing to do with the rules that were broken. Everyone involved is no longer at Penn St and the legal system will punish them. The death penalty will not just demolish the football program. It will destroy every other program at Penn St. With out the football money the other programs do not survive. So you want to destroy all of those opportunities for people? If the NCAA wants to take away TV money, a bowl ban, fine them millions, or anything else like that and donate that money to raise awareness and offer help to abused children then go right on ahead. But the idea of the death penalty for that stuff alone is 1000000000% wrong in my opinion.

The knee jerk burn them at the stake mentality of people without any sort of rational thought is disgusting in today's society.

Agian, I am not trying to minimize what happened to those little boys. God forbid if I was a father of one of those kids, I wouldn't give 2 shits what happens to the damn football program. I would hope that the legal system would take care of them. That is what it is there for. It is not a perfect system but it is what we have.
