Jets and Bears are reaching out to Vance Joseph for their HC job.

My guess is he won't be their # 1 choice but it does show you the improvement he has made ad what he has done with this defense.

We went into this season calling EDGE our #1 need going into next year.. We ended up with 62 sacks on the season. VJ has done a great job with this defense and has turned it around quickly after a horrible start last year...

He really only had one star in Surtain and he has turned the unit into one of the better defenses in the NFL... Tall task this weekend for the D.

i’m intrigued with jim leonard.
i think we’re in good hands if VJ secures a HC position.

Our entire draft class minus our last pick who is on our PS (Gargiullo) has made some sort of an impact this season and all have gotten better as the season has gone on. No more Elway drafts.

I think Payton and Paton really do a nice job of balancing each other out. These last 2 drafts have produced some major impact players. Mims is now becoming one of the most dynamic WR's in the league. Riley Moss when he does get fully healthy again was looking like a top-10 CB in the league. Forsyth helped for a few weeks there and is some nice depth to have in case of injury. Sanders we have to see what he looks like healthy. Hopefully next season we can see he is our answer at LB we have all been wanting.

Then yes of course this past draft is now looking like a foundational draft that we can build around for years to come.

And you could argue he has now helped to bring about 2 more stars with Allen getting some consideration for All-Pro lists (still a travesty he did not make the Pro Bowl) and of course Nik Bonitto turning into one of the best edge rushers in the game when it comes to pass rush.

Elway gets a bum rap for his GM duties. The man assembled a hell of a defense and recruited Payton Manning leading to 5 division titles, 2 SB appearances and 1SB title after a masterful coaching change. I will never understand the constant gripes about Elway as a GM. Franchise GOAT bar none.

That said, love what Payton and Paton are doing even with limited draft capital in past years.

Patrick Surtain was voted to the NFLPA All-Pro list for the 3rd time and Marvin Mims made it for the 1st time as a Punt Returner.

Was hoping Meinerz would get the recognition he deserves as well as Zach Allen. But hey 2 of our guys getting recognized around the league is pretty special.

Also of not the DPOY odds right now have Surtain in 1st and the guy who is 2nd did not make the All-Pro list in TJ Watt. So the rest of the league players do not view Watt in that same light as what media/Vegas views him.

Burrow and Mahomes only ones to actually do something so far.

Herbert needs to win
both Lamar and Allen need to beat Mahomes
Burrow is the one QB beyond Mahomes to be clutch and beat all three

good sign to see Nix go head to head with both Burrow and Mahoomes on the road with a chance to win in the final moments

Wasn't Johnson a big bust years ago?? If so, sounds like he would be the Bears first choice.

Meinerz
Mims

2nd Team
Zach Allen

Really happy for those two getting the recognition they deserve.

Compare the list of NFC QBs under 30 to those in AFC. Pretty big discrepancy imo.
Jayden Daniels, 24
Jalen Hurts, 26
Sam Darnold, 27
Jordan Love, 26
Kyler Murray, 27
Brock Purdy, 25
Caleb Williams, 23
Bryce Young, 23

Mahomes, 29
Allen, 28
Herbert, 26
Jackson, 28
Stroud, 23
Burrow, 28
Nix, 24

I definitely don't think we have had this big of a difference between the conferences in a long time. There for a while the AFC dominated with Manning, Brady, and Big Ben winning a whole lot of Super Bowls for quite a few years, but the AFC did not have the depth that we see today.

Well done George Paton. When you don't have the QB to spend draft time on it will open up the draft even more

This is insane.

We had one injury before the season out for year.

Quinn Bailey

And we had one player during season out for year

Alex Singleton

I am just baffled by this.

Healthiest I ever recall us being.

Of course sole injuries that weren’t “out for season” but two guys out for the season if you don’t count Turner-Yell whose injury was last year.

The article on the Walton Penner ownership group talked about their investment in player health. Seems to be paying off; however, some injuries are not preventable so that will ebb and flow a bit. Soft tissue type injuries I if not completely preventable, can be limited.

We have also signed 15 of our PS players to a future deals.

The only 4 that haven't been signed are

TE Donald Parham
OT Cam Fleming
WR Michael Bandy
WR David Sills

These 4 can sign with a new team at anytime.

Someone changed my avatar! ;)

I’m sure no one cares, but Simmons was and is one of my favorite Broncos partly because of his play, and partly because of who he is as a person. So I left it up until the season was over. Now moved on to Bonitto who was who I was hoping we would draft in 2022, and lo and behold we did. I mean I’m not all gussy about it like one of our posters is about Mims and Franklin - but I’m glad Bonitto has worked out!

Casa Bonitto!
