This is the part that people don't always understand. Lock can have the great throws when his first read is open and everything is in rhythm. Defenses do anything exotic against him and he struggles big time. Teams figured out that especially in obvious passing situations just run a bunch of Cover-1 Robber against him and he will think that middle of the field will be open. Easy turnover.it’s obvious Lock can read defenses 4 years in.

He loses these competitions to be the starter in the film room. On the field he can do enough wow plays to get people excited. Coaches can't trust a guy that has no clue what is happening on the field though.
