On the same date/year there was a big trade for Canuck fans:
1987-Sep-15 Kick McLean Traded from New Jersey Devils with Greg Adams to Vancouver Canucks for Patrik Sundstrom and round 4 pick in the 1988 draft (Matt Ruchty)

I was thinking the same thing. Or how about the reinforcement of how bad Paul Coffey was in his own end. The 5:15 mark where he follows the winger behind the net into the corner and not even roll off to the puck carrier.
