It really should be a holiday. I think I might do that starting next year. My company gives us one day to use at our discretion as a "culturally significant" day.

I will be wearing my Jim Craig jersey at goalie practice tonight. I've semi-retired my Tretiak jersey until such a time as Russia stops fucking things up.

I played hockey with a group that were whites versus reds.
not lights versus darks, but whites versus reds specifically.

90% of people had a Canada jersey for the red, so I wanted to be a bit different and found a Russian jersey on ebay.
that's deep in the back of the closet now as well.

these days I'm rotating through all of the sponsored jerseys I've collected over the years.
the one i wear most often from a team i was on that was sponsored by an uranium mining company.
Yes, the logo is an atom, like the Springfield Isotopes

at a private event 3 blocks away, watching on a 40+ foot screen.
open bar, bunch of food.

it was funny, half of the people didn't give a shit and were there to network/socialize,
the other half had eyes glued to that screen.
Was a family event, and my kid was of the right age (about 5) where she kept running to the bar to get daddy a new beer.

t'was a good day

If Teemu would have stayed in Winnipeg, I think the Jets would have stayed in Winnipeg and we would have avoided the disaster that is the Coyotes.

Probably my second favourite logo if not my favourite... islanders of the 80s hold top spot by a small margin
