I think most boards have a good share of lurkers. I'll post ocassionally but spend most of my time reading through threads. All boards have their levels of disagreement but some boards have a subset of posters that are there simply to cause havoc. Tito, Cazic, and the kid that had the 10,000 alts of which 9,999 were banned, all come to mind. The Disney board had/has some interesting contributors. One of my personal favorites is/was GRABSOME. He was a something I never really saw before on a board. He was the closest thing to to a narrator I had ever seen. He didn't really participate in board discussions, he simply narrated what was happening with the Giants at that time. And he was good! I remember looking through the board one day and realizing that GRABSOME had initiated about 25% of all the existing threads but the only threads he actually participated in were the ones he started. I did ask him why and his response was interesting. He said he didn't want to spend the day arguing with the trolls (Tito and company) but he wanted to be part of the community. This 'narration technique' was his contribution.

While I still do not appreciate his style, and I enjoy making fun of him (it is just fun, I am sorry), I respect him for remaining himself and having his own style. I have told him as much and have personally invited him here on numerous occasions.

I was certainly NOT a fan of his (and vice-versa). He was as of about a month or so ago. We always nudge him, but he has no interest in coming here. I think he likes ruling the roost over there.

Speaky was pretty harmless, but a bit dull to read b/c of all the cliches. The "kid with 10,000 nics who got banned" was a kid called Marcus, and he went by LivinDisUp, Fraudres, and a plethora of Timmy/MadBum Cy Young names. He was supposedly a SD undergrad majoring in English. Dude used to lose his shit on the regular over every loss. And he trolled the other teams boards to be a dick. He and the One Who Shall Not Be Mentioned were annoying as fuck.

Well, except when The Hammer came out.

I guess anyone with an IQ over about 20 could rule the roost over on the mouse board. Which is why all the IQ's over 20 came here...... And thanks for inviting me on numerous occasions, Cal. Once I figured out how to turn off the avatars, I felt much better about being over here. Whether that was reciprocated remains to be seen......



And who was that guy on the mouse board, PortugueseWaterDog, who was always bragging about his legendary accomplishments?

Well, the avatars kept me away for a while. Once I figured out how to turn them off, I was OK.

Language I can deal with. I try not to use offensive language (though I fail at times), but I am not too offended by it.

My son, in high school, was watching Dave Chappelle on night late. I wandered downstairs, and watched for a few minutes. Then said something like, "Hmmm. If watching a black man do nothing but swear and berate women is funny to you, I wish you luck."

The TV was off in a few minutes. I discovered my calling in life then and there. Killjoy!

A well placed curse word can be effective. But listening to someone who only knows how to swear is boring, and a little pathetic, I think. The repartee on this board, and the timing, far outweighs the occasional f-bomb.

He has created and complete fleshed out...

A college sports journalist major
A programmer
An economist
An old time NY Giants fan
A wedding
Two high school graduations
Multiple child births

And two world championships.
