is just awesome! I just want to thank everyone that is part of this family. You all have truly made this year very special for me. Being a displaced Giant fan I really have no 'fan family' other then those on this board. I also have to say that having the ability to share both the ups and downs of this team's WS run has been one of the greatest experiences I have had as a fan, and that spans quite a few decades. This past year has taught me that torture is esquisite when you win but it is oh so painful when you lose. But, at the very core of torture is what a true fan really wants. Emotional investment! I want to feel the joy that comes with rooting for a winning team and I also want to share the pain and disappointment when they lose. But, I don't want to do that alone. This is what this board had provided me. A family! Without all of you this would have been a somewhat meaningless WS Championship for me.

Thank you all ...........................

Congrats 11704. It's awesome to get your perspective as well as Freeports from NY. I hope you both enjoyed the hell out of it and you didn't have to stay up too late celebrating!

To steal a line from gp from way back at the disney board, "you're an asset to this community".

BeerMe is an interesting example of something I dont think of that often. I think of us as a collection of 12-18 guys who hang out and talk about our obsession. In reality, there are probably a number of lurkers who hang out here almost as much as we do but never/rarely post.

Does that make us regular posters celebrities?

It's like the show "Lost". You're not just one of the survivors, you're one of the main characters and have an interesting back story. LOL.

.....and no one knows where the story is going, or what the point of it all is anyway.

Yeah, pretty much.

I would be lying if I didn't look for particular posters when good opinions and analysis come up.

Although early on, it seemed like there was a definite cohesion...then, it all went to hell.

Happy Friday fuckers.

20 hours in the middle of the off-season without a post == dead?

Remind me never to take a nap with you around. I will wake up in the crematorium.

Do you walk around town with a pocket full of toe-tags?

Yup. Pagan signed. Scoots signed. World Series Blu-ray arrived.

Laurels are set to rest mode.

Why the double '=' sign? Yeah, that's all I took after reading your entire post. :heh:

Maybe this is what happens when you win the division and go on to win the WS. You sort of bask in the sunlight of a championship and have no real pressing needs at the moment. Signed both Pagan and Scoots .... pretty much a good off season for us.

Wonder what this off season would have yielded if we had in fact lost in either the NLDS or the NLCS? Would we have been more inclined to persue some significant upgardes? I'm not sure we would have been content with just resigning Pagan and Scoots ....

How about Torres to platoon with Blanco? His OPSs+ against LHP is 106...

Fine by me. Pegs, et al. can still beat him out for a spot in Spring Training. Low risk, potential average reward.
