Third row seat?

My wife wants to get a car/truck with a third row seat... Does anyone have one? Does it come in handy? I'm not sure we need one....

Ayone know the best options out there?

Had a Nissan Armada with a 3rd row seat.
You could take out the 2nd row seats or fold them down which was nice, back row could use them as a foot rest on long trips.

I am looking for a SUV that has Captain chairs as the 2nd row. Probably will get either another Armada or Dodge Caravan with Captains Chairs as the Family Truckster.

Had a GMC Envoy with 3rd row seats.

IMO...it was a waste...we had two kids at the time and we used the vehicle a lot with all 4 of us in, but rarely ever used the 3rd row seats...they were not very functional anyway...only a small kid could really use the seats.

If you have a need for it, go for it...otherwise I wouldn't spend extra to get it.

Mercedes is the only one I know that still does it right - 3rd row facing back so the kids can make googly faces at tailgaters. If you have young kids in baby seats, they'd be a lot easier to put in the back like that IMO.

We have a 3rd row in our Explorer now and did in the Lincoln MKT. They just fold down to set stuff on and you use them once in a blue moon.

I don't think we ever used our 3rd row...maybe once. I'd rather have a two row SUV with cargo space.

My bud in college had a Volvo wagon from his parents and we'd jockey for who'd get to sit in the back on the way back to Gainesville...with the cooler. Drink, nap, drink more, piss in a bottle, drink, sleep...the trip was never long enough.

my q7 has three rows but the 3rd folds down to provide a decent amount of space in the back. the seats are tight but usable for full grown adults. it's come in handy for carpooling or when company is in town.

My Explorer has a power-folding third row. We rarely use it, but it does come in handy a few times a year. You have to be fairly small to use it.
