I know it's just a scrimmage, but after dividing up the teams evenly, the QBs played decently today. Taylor Martinez rushing 9 times for 60 yards.....I like that. Spano hit 7 of 8 passes today including the game winner. All the QBs threw decent enough.

Spano did not look great in person, he threw ducks every time and as you know, couldn't be hit by the D... Taylor didn't look good throwing either, but he can run...

I was pleasantly surprised with Green, had he been throwing to number 1 receivers all day he would have had 2 incompletions and 3 TD's.. He looked very good to me.

Unless Lee is hit by a meteor, he will be the starter. Like it or not, he isn't as much of a run threat as Martinez or Green, he still throws better. Say what you want about over/under throwing receivers, he is still better than his competition...

Lee very well might get the nod for game management purposes. However I will always remember him as the last of the Callahan era QB's and the transition from finesse back to a physical style Husker offense.
Nebraska QBs have surprised me before. Namely Scott Frost who was widely criticized in 96 (his first year starting), only to lead NU to a National Title in 97.

Red, couldn't agree more. I was very excited about Lee when he committed. Oklahoma pretty much offered him the starting postition after Brohm got dismissed, but he decided to come here.

Throughout last season, I felt something wasn't right, the guy is too good to perform so poorly. Everyone (staff included) compared him to Ganz with quicker feet, so I was very confused as to why he performed so poorly. But when the injury went public after the season, to me, that made all my doubts dissapear. I firmly believe Lee will do great things this season, you better hope I'm right, because like I said before, nobody is taking his job unless they turn some major heads.

Yea as I said earlier on this year, Lee will be the starter. I just thought it was interesting to see other QBs showing something in the scrimmage. The major thing I guess that really stands out to me in my mind is 60 yards on 9 rushing attempts by Martinez. The way I see it, we need someone who is going to get out and scramble.

What I want from Green is to see him get a little quicker with his feet and be more decisive about where he is running with the ball. I think as far as a passing QB right now, Green is in a completely different league than he was coming in as a true Freshman. Obviously he has great size and ability to be our starting QB.....now I want to see him get some Jammal Lord action goin with them long legs (talking about running here not passing, don't pop a testicle because I said I want him to reflect Jammal Lord )

Green didn't have to run yesterday, his passes were on and he was standing perfectly fine in the pocket.. That said, Martinez is the better runner right now, but Cody could pick that up and if he doesn't, he can be a very good passing QB
