My uncle works as head of security for Sears. Right now they have at least 17 guards who locked themselves in a secure part of the store. They were overwhelmed and now the store is being looted as I type this. My dad told me that they are fearing for their lives since the store may be set on fire.

Fucking disgusting. Over a hockey game? My sister is at least safe at a friends house downtown. I am still in shock on how bad this got, didn't know where else to express this.

People are such assholes. Mob mentality is such a selfish, loser concept. When things go wrong, blackout, team loses, whatever, I don't see that as a green light to act like a scumbag. This is a scenario where I wouldn't mind police brutality.

Truly disgusting... Hope your family is safe man, as well as all you Canuck fans on here. Sucks to be stuck in the middle of a bunch of part time hockey douchebags like that. Keep us posted man, I really hope your Uncle made it out of that situation fine.

this was a very organized event ... Black Bloc has its hands all over it

the canucks jersey was a perfect disguise for the anarchists ... I dont think many actual canucks fans went down to the outdoor viewing party with knives, bricks and molotov cocktails

their plan of attack was the Bay/London Drugs/Future Shop and then Sears

London Drugs employees were just closing the doors for the night and were also still in the store

hopefully your uncle made it out safe curtrain

The thing that's really horrible is that a great portion of the looting is being done by organized groups, like those that show up at G20's and know that there will be minor riots, take advantage of that and make it worse than it should be.

These are not Canuck fans that are doing these horrific acts. Hope your uncle was safe and the rest of the guards that worked there.

That is true. Too many armed people who were hiding their faces. They were expecting a riot and they planned to take advantage of the situation. Most people I know that were downtown got out as soon as they could.

A friend on facebook posted a pic of the people breaking into the store (he was trying to get to his car at the time). Hope that picture helps the police find those idiots.
