It is fair using THIS criteria. The criteria is what is stupid! It does not tell anything. Alabama is losing by 3 in overtimes to #1 ranked teams OR very close losses to top 5 teams and crushing other top 10 teams while other teams are getting crushed by #9 and 10 ranked teams. And I will say only in conference just for you. Is that the same? Now going off what I said earlier this is such a small sample pool because of only top 10 teams in final rankings and not counting any out of conference wins over top 10 teams. I see your point about USC and maybe someone should count top 10 teams at time of game but to get credit that team still needs to finish in the top 15 at the end. Something like that would be fairer and a larger base to work from.

HOWEVER, IF Y'ALL REALLY WANT TO THINK THIS IS ACCURATE IT JUST SHOWS HOW THE SEC IS SO MUCH TOUGHER THAN THE OTHER CONFERENCES!!! IT PROVES EVERYTHING Y'ALL HATE ABOUT THE SEC. THANKS!!! Why is it that only the SEC teams played in the top10 count? Oh because that's the only way you can get the OP's original stat. Which is why it's stupid.

Just in the past 4 years Alabama has went into the NCG ranked #2 and beaten #1. In each of those games it was done handily. That's 3 wins against #1 teams right away.

And then in 2009, we have Florida who was ranked #1 in the SECCG going in, and Alabama wins that game. So, just in the past 4 years we are looking at beating the #1 team 4 times. That's #1, not just top10.

But no, that can't be the perception. It's gotta be the obsure stat over the past 15 years and only counting them in the regular season, and only against conference teams, and only final rankings? So we can pretend Alabama has a 1-19 record? And then you blame Alabama fans for correcting it? Get fucked.

It's dumb, but of course people who hate will take anything they can find to sling mud, and pretend like these are stats from the past 4 years, and as if they are all the stats, etc. When they aren't.
