I stumbled across this sweetness. I need to read more into it, but it seems like a nifty concept. Since I don't have time now to read through the derivations and proofs, nor even to look at the formulas, I thought I would just post this so you can see it.

It should. It's talking about player value with relation to goals and wins, so the players who are on the ice the highest percentage of the time, and who have the most direct impact on whether or not goals are scored, should reasonably be the most valuable players on the teams.
