Chiefs defense has taken a few steps backwards the past couple of weeks

Your defense is playing fine IMO... what's interesting is 2021 you were a top 5 O, 2022 you were the #1 O, 2023 you were still top 10... but now you're below average across all teams. And I go by yards not points... points are fine, but gaining yards IMO is a bigger factor. If a team gets an INT or fumble recovery and your offense scores points, it inflates it. And there's fluky plays. More consistent yardage = less time for the defense on the field and changes the mentality of the team.

It hasn't been nearly as easy as the score indicates. Richardson just isn't ready yet.

Yah I don't think Richardson will ever be ready. He's got the arm of Michael Vick (which if you recall was horrible in terms of accuracy or putting a touch on a pass, strength was remarkable) with none of the scrambling ability that caught basically the NFL off guard in the early 2000s which everyone looks out for now. Even then, nowhere close to Jackson.

Agreed, Richardson has done nothing to show me he’ll ever be a good NFL QB. He was a mediocre college QB who couldn’t even lead the Gators to a winning season and yet we’re supposed to believe he’s some great talent who can be a franchise QB? Forget it. Arguably the worst college QB to ever be selected in the top 5 - at least other top 5 busts had great college careers, Richardson didn’t.

I did edit my post a bit to clarify that Vick did have a strong arm (like Richardson) - just FYI.

On your comment, agreed. I was surprised he was so hyped up. I get the athleticism... I dunno, it very much seemed to be a Jamarcus Russell 2.0 kind of thing. Amazing arm (can't deny that) but just none of the football IQ required to lead a team. And obviously no leadership (going back to my point about him taking off a down because "I AM TIRED") lol... whatever. I was relieved when the Colts took him because I did NOT want Seattle to take him. I wanted Stroud, but the damn Texans stole him. Course Carroll basically orgasm'id on live TV when Witherspoon was taken so even if Stroud was there we probably wouldn't have taken him. Bleh.

I think getting TDs in the red zone is just as important as the yards. Marching up and down the field but constantly kicking FGs can be an issue. Not all teams can be the Steelers
