My initial thought when Rick woke up hearing those voices was "oh no, the Hunters!" I thought they would pan out to reveal Rick tied up possibly missing a limb. Luckily not the case.

While I would have been SHOKED had they gone that route, that does bring up an interesting idea. Maybe Rick will partially play the Dale role regarding the Hunters. I tend to think they will avoid that aspect of Rick due to the CGI costs involved moving forward, but that would allow them to get back on track with his character...

I am trying to think how vital that issue is for story-telling, and I am not convinced it is important enough to incur the extra costs.

Yeah, I agree it's not that crucial of a storyline to bring to the TV show. I think it would be fun though. With the dude who got choked out seeing Rick, I think that we'll be seeing this group again though. They weren't nice people.

Awesome episode last Sunday, I was pleased with Rick's stealthiness.

I am really hoping for an episode tonight that is not quite so soap opera-ish.

I'm all for characterization, but the show just doesn't seem quite right anymore.

On another note, I was reading a thread on Yahoo where some people were upset about Rosita showing her belly button, saying that it is not proper attire for a zombie apocalypse.

I would like to go on record as saying that I have no problem with Rosita's belly button.

I just dont get this focus on two people the entire episode over the course of what seemed like two days and two nights. There are what four more groups out there that we just sit and wait to find out what was happening with them.

Get ready for more of it. They've said that the second half of season 4 will focus on character development and just a few at a time. We had Michonne and Carl earlier. Next week looks like lots of Maggie, Bob, and Sasha.

I like it. I like seeing their back stories. Wasn't surprised to hear that Daryl and Merle were rednecks getting up to no good. The emotional ride Daryl went through last night was good to see. Heck, I miss Merle too!

It is certainly appropriate attire

I like it too. We can only get so much Zombie smashing. Let's get attached to the cast so that when they do die, we really feel it. Remember there are only 5 characters remaining from S1 (Daryl, Carol, Glenn, Rick, Carl), so we need to build the bond with the newbs.

I really liked the I Never game. Daryl getting pissed because Beth assumed that he had done time was some awesome character development. Then at the end, as he finally broke a smile as they were walking away from the burning shack was strong as well. I think we will be in store for a different Daryl moving forward.

Or a dead one...

Sorry, I've gotta disagree with you guys on this. Go back to season one, with episodes like "Tell it to the Frogs" and "Vatos". A perfect (IMO) blend of characterization and horror.

The writing has become as bad as the worst soap, and the horror is a joke. The zombies all pretty much look like the Crypt Keeper from that old 70's movie. Have you ever wondered why they film so many scenes indoors? Budget slashes. I don't blame Scott Gimple for this; he is handcuffed by the suits from AMC.

I'm a fan of the comic and Kirkman, and I fell in love with the show from the start. I will stick with it in hopes that it gets better.

Just don't expect me to cheer and cry "well, it was all worth it!" if they eventually produce a compelling episode for the finale.

I think they (daryl + beth) eventually become an item. I thought they were gonna "hook up" in last night's episode after they got drunk on moonshine......but the producers/writers didn't want to rush things.....lol

I just think they give too much credit to the fans of the comics.

Its a tv show, if we wanted to read comics, we wouldnt be watching tv.

Last night had NOTHING to do with the comics. Neither Beth nor Daryl are in the comics, and the events did not happen to other characters either.

I actually believe that there is very little that is done PURELY for the comic readers. The pose that Abe and his crew made in their debut was a nod to the comic readers, and quite goofy to those who do not read them, but outside of that I am not sure how the TV shows suffers from any nods to the readers.

Possible, but I think they are going more for a brother-sister thing there.

At first I was a bit annoyed but then I saw where they where going here. When Michonne let go and on this episode. Daryl let it rip...it was to get the know these characters a bit better in a way they could never do that with all of them together. I Have no problem with this really.

No way IMO. Carol will be back with Daryl. Beth will have to wait. Maybe Carl?

Nah...that's too predictable.....Daryl will revert back to bad boy status and won't be into the milf thing anymore...I can totally see he and Beth shacking up. Carl will have eyes on Lizzie for helping save his little sister...(when he finds out)

Also.....I'm hoping for a tryst between Tara and Rosita.....lol
