I think he bought that it was Negan, especially with the look on Carol's face, which to me said "wait no... oh well :/

He told him he was negan, but I dont think it mattered, Carol and Maggie were not leaving any survivors, neither was Rick. I thought the redhead had a shot at joining them, she had everything you look for in a zombie slayer.

I think you misunderstood what I was getting at.

For the show, "Negan" is a title, not a name. We will still the book's Negan, only different. And the Saviors are not the same as in the books, apparently.

Gimple and co. are very slowly and somewhat subtly straying from the books in a lot of ways and are making changes that will have the show go its own way even further down the road, I think. Makes me wonder how far they will go in that respect. And makes me wonder if they will go full circle; could you imagine, after the way her character has developed, Carol meeting the same fate she did in the books?

If you think about it...crazy as it seems, it could happen. Things are getting very very interesting here...

This episode is really making my think.

"We are all Negan".

Is this the TV truth? Will they make "Negan" just some guy with the title?

Why do the Saviors believe they are the good guys? I am not sure even "our group" REALLY believes they are the "good guys". They are just survivors. The Saviors seem to have real loyalty and believe they are the good ones. If "Negan" is just some kind of communal belief structure, that is quite a change from the books.

i have been thinking this as well. Certainly room to wiggle.

'Chelle seemed like a legit good person, though. And she fully believed that the Saviors were the good guys. That just doesn't seem possible from what I remember from the books.

Donnie, Molls and Paula, I understand could view themselves as the good guys. They were more hard core. 'Chelle was different, though.

The cage Morgan is building will end up for Negan; in my mind, there is no doubt about it. Thing is, what does it do for Morgan's development?

I think they follow the comics with Negan for the most part. Glenn is toast IMO. They are already setting it up that way with Maggie. She will go on to lead Hilltop, like in the comics. That doesn't happen if Glenn lives IMO.

Maybe they are following the comic even more closely...going in the opposite direction of what I thought.

Damn. and here I thought we were going to get a Terminus-like twist to the Negan arc.

Oh well. The Negan arc, as-is, is pretty kick ass, so going basically cell-by-cell is fine.
