Burkie is shifting the chairs on the deck like a cruise director...on the Titanic.

The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Aaron Voros from the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday in exchange for a conditional 7th round draft pick.

Voros will report directly to the Leafs' American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.

In 12 games with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL this season, Voros has no points and 43 minutes in penalties
.

Didn't Voros date Lindsey Lohan for a while when he was with the Rags?

What's the big deal? Burke signed a player with no goals and averages over one minor penalty a game. Par for the course.

Burke confuses me. he says that no rebuild is going to happen, then trades a 24 year old stanley cup winner for draft picks and then picks up scraps for the AHL. I can understand building his AHL club but the the Versteeg trade still baffles me.

I think he's trying to get more "size" to the team? An Enforcer? I dunno, he needs to get better on defense, poor goalies get hung out to dry! Get rid of Kaberle for some prospects/picks, get rid of Lebda for a fucking dozen donuts.

Rumours (and rumors) are swirling that Kaberle has agreed to waive his NTC and that he will be dealt in the next 24 to 72 hours...

To be fair...he did get a first rounder out of the Versteeg deal.

Granted, if things hold it's going to be a late first rounder, but he's gotta do something to make up for the Kessel debacle :L

yeah but its going to be 28 to 30th overall. but I guess hes traded Stalberg for that now so maybe it makes more sense. but I wouldnt let a guy like Versteeg go unless there is something we are missing. hes going to do well in Philly.

so if Voros was on waivers with the Ducks (and he was), would he need to go through recall waivers if the Leafs need a warm body?

I don't disagree, I'd keep Versteeg over a late first rounder any day.

lets think about this again ... not 1 ... but 2 first rounders for Kessel

do Damien Cox and alot of leafs fans still want us all to wait and see how this plays out :L

trading versteeg is basically a public surrender that Burke shat the bed with plan #1 ... on to plan #2

to Vancouver for a 2nd round pick and a prospect me thinks if true and I hope so as we are THIN on D.

only if Hamhuis goes on LTIR right? and would that mean Hamhuis is out til the playoffs begin? because theres no way they could have both on the roster
