The thing that is most going to kill us the rest of the season

Jay Gruden has shown that if the Ground game does not come out crushing it, he will abandon it at the drop of a hat. Not o put to fine a point on it, but he has said multiple times, if we run on first and dont get 5-7 yards, the next two plays are likely to be passing plays. (Paraphrased of course) This is whats going to ensure that we will be drafting a QB next year even if Gruden is still around. He is a pass happy kind of guy who apparently feels like the run game is there to supplement his passing attack. And if the ground game isnt dominant early, he will abandon it.

I'm a stick with the run guy too. But on Sunday it just wasn't working. When it's the 4th quarter and you have 7 pts you need to change it up. He did and it worked.

The challenge is that every defense is going to stack the box to stop our run. Without djax and Reed, it really hampers our ability to stretch the field and keep the defenses honest. I guess we could use crowder and Ross to do it, but they still are making rookie mistakes, so it's a mixed bag. Apparently Ross lined up in the wrong spot twice last Sunday and crowder ran the wrong route on the 2 pt conversion, messing up the play.

And that is EXACTLY why I get frustrated when fans continue to scream for Ross based on preseason games.

With that said I refuse to believe the other WRs can make a defense geared to stop the run pay for that strategy. Gary Clark wasn't fast and he beat guys deep all the time.

i like ross but he is a young wr and he makes mistakes . same with crowder . hence you wont see the deep ball much until DJAX comes back most likely after the bye
