Might be too late to keep Watson.

Watson doesn't really have any say on if he is staying in Houston or not. He signed a huge contract. This isn't the NBA where the inmates are running the asylum.

He could sit out indefinitely. He already has his signing bonus money. Silly argument.

Naaah Texans need complete overhaul, 33 year old QB on a terrible roster won’t help
Yep, they need to completely rebuild and right now, they don't have the material to start. No picks, no cap room, nothing. It's like a carpenter going to build a house without lumber and nails. Watson could land them a starting point but if they keep him, they have to hope for a miracle in the later rounds of the draft. They need a lot of work on defense especially.

I’m with ya, they’ve done it to themselves but their only way back to a competitive level, is actually to trade their 25 year old franchise QB

mostly because you have the ability to draft his replacement with the 2nd best QB of this draft, in addition to all the other picks they net

Sit out indefinitely? You realize he would be getting weekly fines starting in training camp all throughout the season right? They would likely also try to go after the signing bonus money in that scenario for breach of contract how teams sometimes go after the signing bonus money of players who retire early or got in trouble with the law or did some weird Antonio Brown type shit.

If I was the Texans owner Watson would play for me or he wouldn't play at all. he is under contract and he doesn't want to get suspended without pay.
