We have a tie between Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers. I could arbitrarily name one a winner or state my reasons for one over another or name them 6th and 7th best. Instead, I wanted to leave it up for a vote. Outside of the Top Ten, I probably will just name a winner, but this is within the Top Ten, of course.

I think Rivers is just as likely to regress as Ben is to have a better year this next year. They could dtay the same or continue their trends. But this poll is NOT for who will do better this year, because teams' supporting casts and philosophies are different. This is, instead, who is the better QB right now if both had the same supporting cast (average everywhere). Note: This means an average, not poor, Oline. It also means average, not great, receivers. This is for this year, not an all-time or career accomplishment poll.

Please vote as objectively as you can.

Are we only giving him credit for winning the second Superbowl because in the first he was like 9/23 for 123 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs? Or does he get credit for both?

MHSL- nice try but I refuse to participate in this cripple fight

I know it's not your fault, I was kidding. It's not your fault other people suck at voting. :)

I actually like Ben a lot but 6th best QB? Yikes.

The fact Rivers even tied Big Ben at 6th best is comical. How is Rivers any better than Romo? Rivers stats 132 games 32,369 yards 221 TDs 104 INTs. Romo stats 124 games 29,565 yards 208 TDs 101 INTs.

Shocked to see Rivers in the Top 10 same with Romo. Take Kap over both.

In the long run I would take Kap over both also. But until Kap proves he can become a better passer both Rivers and Romo are better even tho Kap has had more playoff success. I do believe Kap will show this year that he can be a QB who can go thru his reads and become a better passer. When he does that I will jump him into my top 10 for sure.

There are a lot of Steeler fans on SportsHoopla.

Here was my issue: We are on QB6 right now and there are 11 options (plus other) - that is 5 previous plus 11 = 16. I could limit the options and leave off those I don't think are sixth best candidates, but then there are accusations of favoritism. So I put 16 QBs so far. I've avoided Alex for right now because he's not sixth best and putting him on there would look like I was suggesting him as such.

I purposely only put four options plus other for the first few polls to avoid homerism running rampant. If I was wrong, there's the "Other" option. Enough people would have a chance to write in someone.

I thought this was for play as of today not the past?

It is and it has been explained to Purguy12 before. Maybe he thought there were different polls? Perhaps if one guy has won before then he could do it again more likely than others. Rivers never has (and yes, it's a team game). If that's the case, Eli Manning should be getting a vote from someone somewhere on one of these polls.

So other than Steeler fans, why is Big Ben getting a lot of love but not Manning? I would say neither if we're talking about six best.

Even tho we aren't suppose to be voting on past success for me it's hard not too. Maybe Manning isn't getting votes cuz he is known for throwing a lot of INTs. If you took both Eli's SBs away to me he isn't any better than Cutler. I know it's a team game but for me I will always rank SB winning QBs over ones who didn't win unless that person is Marino.

Picked Ricers, and I'm really surprised Big Ben is currently winning.

Kap has already done more then both so in my opinion Kap would be easy. Even ask the great Joe Montana. He even said Kap is one of the top QB's. LOL
