Robertson has 79 or more points in his last 4 years and a 100 point season

JVR never had more that 62 points and he's a huge PUSS !

Robertson would be huge for us, talent-wise, but he's also not a center. That starts to stack us at wing with still no top center and arguably no top defenseman or goalie either.

I don't think I'd chase Robertson either. Marner is a different story, UFA so you don't have to trade for him and he's a higher level talent than Robertson.

Don't see the value in chasing Robertson for the Flyers. Also highly doubt the Stars move him anyway. Just bluster after an earlier than hoped for exit. Most dramatic thing the Stars do IMO is fire DeBoer, if they even do that.

I wanted Misa in the draft, but that obviously seems extremely unlikely at this point. I'm fine if we have to settle for Frondell, but then I am concerned that he potentially won't be a top line center in the Nhl. A top winger with a great shot certainly helps us, but we desperately need the center.

And to a lesser extent, we need a legit, top defenseman that can play half of the game and do it all too.

I'm reading up on these guys and I think we should be trying to hit home runs and go after picks like Mrtka, Zonnon, McQueen, Carbonneau, Zharovsky, Ryabkin and Svrcek. Clearly a couple of these kids are Russian too and could make some instant magic with Michkov. McQueen could be the next Tage Thompson if he stays healthy and that's very intriguing.

Also, I do think size is a factor and we need to get bigger. I would argue that we don't yet have a big forward to occupy the front of the opposing net or a big defenseman to clear the front of our own net. Those are critical pieces to have, especially while on the power play or killing a penalty. These are areas in which we have very much struggled over the years.

Bigger, stronger and faster is a nice place to start at center and on defense. That doesn't necessarily mean less skill or talent either. And yes, I have guys like Mrtka and McQueen in mind. Play our cards right and we could draft them both, and still keep #6.

I read that Svejkovsky will be taking over the PP. If he can get us around the middle of the pack that would propel us to around 8 - 10 more wins so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I still think the Oilers are going down. The Panthers are the champs until they aren't. Florida is going to win game two and really put the heat on them back home. No pun intended...Lol

With Marchand and Jones, plus an obvious upgrade of Bob over Skinner in net, I like the Panthers to win the Cup again in 6 or 7 games.

Sure, but what does calling Oettinger out in a post season press conference do other than piss off Oettinger and all his buddies on the team? Then they stew in it for 3 months and when DeBoer tells them to do something in training camp they tell him to fuck off.

You're never going to win this "save the coaches" crusade. Any book or study on leadership/motivation will say calling people out in a public setting will at best get a short term burst of increased output. Over a long period, people check out under those conditions. Praise in public, correct in private.

Would've been fine to do if they had just lost game 6 and he was trying to get a little more juice out of them for game 7, even it's to spite the coach. If it works, all is forgiven because they win and advance. Doing it when they won't play another game for 3 months has no benefit. It's just being a whiny bitch and trying to shirk responsibility for losing 6 conference finals in a row (across 3 different teams).

I agree, he should have called all his team out well before then, they were never in that series. Im fine with a coach being critical after the fact but he should have pointed the blame on each and every player because none of them showed up. That's the message to me they should be facing for 3 months.
