I cant believe Ryan Ellis is still collecting 6.25 million for another 2 years. SMH!!
JO should retire. If he won't, they should make him come to the games and sit with the other scratches/injured guys.

Cates re-signed at 4/$16M.

That seems like a good deal.

Yep, I like that deal. I think he has the potential to be a reliable 3C on a playoff team and 4M with the cap rising means he wouldn't be crazy overpaid as an excellent 4C on a cup contender if that's the way the cookie crumbles. To me he could be a Jordan Staal-esque player. Might not provide a ton of offense, but can be the matchup guy and play a lot of minutes against other teams' top lines.

Bro was a +3 on a team that finished with a -48 goal differential.

Will be a very team friendly deal if he provides 15-18 minutes per night and is never in the negatives, offense be damned.
3C is his ceiling.

Great deal for both sides. He's not gonna provide a ton of offense, but he does chip in, and is efficient about it too. Extremely competitive and defensively aware. I would take him as my 3C on most any team, as he is arguably just entering his prime at age 26.

The obvious issue is that he's a 2C on our team right now, which needs to be rectified. If we just get our legit 1C, everyone moves down a slot and we're good.

Spotrac has a huge list of FA and RFA Centers available. Many are old and overpriced but there are a host of good-to-decent Centers that aren't old and some are fairly cheap. I find it hard to believe the Flyers are not even attempting to look into signing one or two before the draft to take the pressure off screwing-up our First Round picks. It just looks as though, they aren't doing shit. Everyone seems to be on vacay or something!!

Robertson would be huge for us, talent-wise, but he's also not a center. That starts to stack us at wing with still no top center and arguably no top defenseman or goalie either.

Agreed. If they are going to make a play for high end talent, it has to be a Center. There looks like there may be a few more options in 2026 than 2025. Plus, Kevin Hayes will be available in 2026! (please note the green font color!!!!!!!)
