Sure he does, but he wasn't this time.
Nothing more than opinion.

Fact, not opinion. Jumping over the center is not illegal, it's been done before and was done by that exact player less than two months prior.Nothing more than opinion.

Lining up over the center is illegal, even if it is for a split second as the defender rushes the line prior to leaping. Ref's judgement was that it had occurred, even if from an angle.
Yeah I realize that. I would imagine people in the NFL were hoping for wisdom from those with such powers. (same for president too I think)
Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't.
I was just commenting that when people cite the large punishments levied on the Patriots as some type of proof of something you have to realize that the ability to declare guilt and levy any type of punishment as you see fit sort of negates much of that as proof of anything but power.
Even if the labor agreement was found to be legal it doesn't mean that Judge Bergman was wrong in calling the prosecution and investigation a sham.

You can't make contact with the center. You can make contact with the guard. They also are not allowed to make contact and well it was obvious he made some serious contact when he jumped over the Center. The flag was the right call.

Yeah and I'm telling you the ref was wrong. He was never lined up over the center, at the snap of the ball.Lining up over the center is illegal, even if it is for a split second as the defender rushes the line prior to leaping. Ref's judgement was that it had occurred, even if from an angle.
Yup, if you are flagged for hitting the center it's different than an illegal formation penalty. I believe it's 15 yards (or half the distance in the case of an extra point)Sorry just remembered it was the guard not the Center that he caught his leg on.
Pereira gets calls wrong too.
Well when multiple teams complain to the league about the footballs not being right yes they at that point need to open an investigation. It shouldnt' have taken as long as it did and cost as much as it did but I do think the investigation was warranted. I mean at this point seems like quite a few teams have complained to Goodell about the Patriots and some of their tactics.
