Yeah - I feel very lucky that I don't get much enjoyment out of gambling. I would never gamble on a game with one of my teams unless it was just for liquor, which I do with a buddy annually and it's a friendly thing.

Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham told reporters Thursday that senior Siale Fakailoatonga will miss the entire season due to a torn ACL. Fakailoatonga, an expected starter, missed the second half of the 2015 campaign with the same injury. According to Kyle Goon of the Salt Lake Tribune, the injury occurred in the same knee.

Fakailoatonga, who began his career as a walk-on, still has his redshirt available, so he would be able to return in 2017 if he chooses.

With Fakailoatonga out, Evan Moeai should receive the bulk of the playing time along with junior Harrison Handley. Moeai started ahead of Fakailoatonga to start the 2015 season, but he too went down with a season-ending injury and took a medical redshirt. Moeai began his career at the junior college level, playing for Snow College. He redshirted his first season there and then totaled 32 catches for 375 yards and eight scores in 2012. He saw little playing time in his first two seasons with the Utes, appearing in just four games combined in 2013 and 2014.

Handley was a big-time contributor down the stretch for the Utes in 2015, hauling in 21 catches for 286 yards and four touchdowns. He also appeared in three games as a redshirt freshman in 2014.

In other Utah news, Whittingham told reporters that Troy Williams “has the edge” in the team’s starting quarterback competition. Williams, a junior college transfer who began his career at Washington, is battling for the starting job with true freshman Tyler Huntley and redshirt junior Brandon Cox.

I think this is USC's year to win the conference. I still think UW will be the biggest bust of the season, since all I hear about is them as favorites to be the underdog.

Meh. Huskies have more to prove this year. I'm ok with us being 3rd in a preseason power ranking.

What I found more interesting was that PACN teams were 1-4.

A potential shakeup of the Ducks spot could happen before PAC play starts depending on how they do against Nebraska on Sept 17. Really looking forward to that game. It will be a solid test of where their new defense is at and how their latest QB rental can do against a big boy team D.

For the Huskies, don't expect much action in thr polls and power rankings till PAC play starts. Starting #3 shows plenty of respect coming our way right now.

I'd rather be at least 3rd if not lower than some of the crazy ones coming from the media. Polls don't matter. Games matter.

If UW lives up to any of the hype it will be like so what, it was expected. If they are even just average, but improved over last year it will be seen as a failure given the expectations. They can't win unless they win out which is highly unlikely.

Now that they are in full pads and full contact I'm just waiting for whoever is going to be gone for the season before it even starts. Seems to happen every year. Some substantial piece ends up with an ACL before a real game even happens. Far more concerned with that than any silly preseason polls/lists.

I think 2 of the 3 that cover the Pac12 that I've seen up there have picked UW > Oregon this year. You just hang your hat on that one dude being the only one that knows the Pac. You know, the only one you posted a link to.

stop trying to make more of it than it is. I saw the link on twitter because i follow the Pac 12 blog. It focuses on the conference that the team I follow is in. I went to the Pac 12 blog copied the address posted it and went to work. Like I said I would have posted it because it is applicable to this thread no matter how their standings looked.

God you're sensitive. We have been on here long enough that by now you should be able to tell when someone is just busting your balls. Let your hair down and roll with it now and then.

Polls don't matter, games matter, according to the Wiz, but he's hanging on your every word. Sensitive, I guess.
