VA got an invite to try out at rookie mini camp for the Seahwks. It's literally the lowest thing you can possibly get. If he can't impress them enough to at least land on a practice squad I'm not sure any other team in this country will take him. His next stop is probably Canada. Guys like him don't change positions. They just go try to make a name for themselves in the CFL first.

He's super small and played his entire career in a spread offense. He'd have done himself a better service to go to a pro style offensive team for his 5th year transfer instead of Oregon.

He does have an outside chance at making the practice squad though. Seattle went into the draft with only Wilson on the roster at QB and they drafted another QB late. There's a chance both can find spots, but the Seahawks won't hesitate to dump him if he's not adapting to their offense fast.

He could possibly be a band aid type QB like Flutie was if Wilson gets hurt and is out for a half or a game but i don't know if thats enough for a team to keep him on a roster for. If he was smart he'd shoot for than and at least some NFL money for a year or two. Oh , maybe someone keeps him around for practice squad to simulate Wilson.

Seattle has kept project QB's on their practice squad before. BJ Daniels spent a couple of years there. If he can impress them with his ability to pickup the playbook and his quick decisions making then they would probably keep him as a project guy. They like to favor QB's that fit the unique system they have with Wilson.

The question is can he adapt to a pro style offense built for midgets? There are questions about his football smarts as well as his classroom smarts. He won't have a lot of room for error in adapting to what they are doing.

I give him a better than 50% chance he makes it to fall training, but under 50% he makes it to the practice squad. Would love to see him prove me wrong though.

With it pretty much down to USC and Bama the past month, 4-star dual-threat QB Tua Tagovailoa (Honolulu, HI) committed to Bama this evening.

Was too depressed with watching Mariota in every other local commercial on tv horribly pimping everything from car insurance to banks. The guys delivery is worse than lurch from the Adams family.

(Voice like a Tuba). "You....Should....Call......that.....number...to....get............a......good.....raaaaate....." :poke:

At least his commercials served a good purpose. Every time I was tortured with another ad he was in.

First it was like this...

chloe-moretz-confused-gif.gif

And then I quickly proceeded to beaches like this near the house where I grew up to watch girls in gstrings jumping off the rocks and surfing. Kind of let all the mental torture inflicted early wash away. Great therapy.

Meh, as long as there are lower FBS schools with grad students they can ride for one year they don't need QB recruits anymore.

yeah but after Jonsen, who has been my pick since he committed but he was hurt last season, looked solid in the spring game and Wilson behind him being a small factor in the QB comp as a true frosh as well as Frost leaving who kelley commited to and Yost coming in who he may not like were the likely factors.
