In the PAC.....

6 teams scored 25+ per game in 2010

12 teams scored 25+ per game in 2014

That's ridiculous when you think about it and it's not like the PAC isn't sending a lot of prime defensive talent to the NFL. We play D in the PAC.

At the same time it's not shocking considering we have the best coaching talent top to bottom of any conference and the PAC12 network deals have leveled the playing field with facilities and coaching salaries. Nobody has to go begging hat in hand to their wealthiest boosters anymore for years. Schools like WSU and OSU aren't even blinking at major facilities upgrades they never would of dreamed possible 10 years ago.

Goes to show how hyper competitive this conf has become. We are the Game of Thrones conference. Nobody is safe.

Exactly.

It isnt a lack of defense. It is innovation and progressive coaching top to bottom.

When those beastly freak athletes on defense in the SEC are giving up 30-40 in games against good offenses you know times are changing.

I had this argument on SportsHoopla last year when someone was saying the pac defenses were weak. PAC defenses aren't weak by any stretch. Players like Scooby wright awards and all americans should make that evident enough. The reason they don't always look as strong as they are.has a lot more to do with how strong the PAC offenses are.

Damn near impossible to go unbeaten in conference play.

Yep. Since Oregon St. ended USC's 27 game PAC win streak in 2006, only Oregon has made it through conference play unbeaten and they've only been able to do it once. It may be awhile before we see any team make it through the PAC unbeaten again.

27 game win streak while impressive is still only 2 undefeated in conference play seasons.

Exactly my point. Like Mamba said, near impossible to make it through the PAC unbeaten. It's happened like 3 times in the past 15 years and by only 2 different teams.

Since the PAC moved to the 9 game IC schedule, only Oregon has done it.

In 2004 USC missed 5-6 Oregon
in 2005 it was 5-6 Oregon State.
Even at the 9 game schedule USC likely would have been undefeated those years too.

Unless they played OSU in Corvallis on a thursday then who knows.

Unless they play 13.5 conference games a season, I think this might be a little off . . .
Of course, it is also possible that I was confused as to what you meant. (that happens from time to time.)

Ok guys. As you know, the PAC is celebrating its 100th year.

This is going to be a blast.

We should be civil and come up with a group list of our own and see how it compares

-Should we create a separate thread hidden away in a team forum so we don't get outside folks flooding it with trolling?

-Should we leave it in this thread.

-Should we create a cfb main page thread knowing non PACers will be in it.

-should we not do it at all.

If we do it on a seperate thread we can move it in here to keep it saved.

Have tickets to 3 home games this year already. Can't wait to tailgate and watch my Wildcats beat some Pac12 ass up again :)
