We need an official start date too. I'll propose the day of the Pac 12 championship game. That way, if oregon's in it we can start after, if not, well we know the outcome anyway... I think we can agree if Oregon doesn't win the Pac, they aren't going to be selected to the playoffs, yes? If not, we can make the selection announcement day the start day.

And if Oregon is mathematically eliminated from a shot at a conference championship (I know that's a big if, as far as you're concerned) you can start early if you want, your call...

I do not have a ton of hope for Stanford to win out, WSU looks tough and Oregon is a challenge more often than not, and there is still the domers, who do not figure into the bet you have made with dayman, but damn, I wish I had been on here to take that bet earlier.
